Više od 150 poginulih u poplavama: Mnogi bez struje, vatrogasci preopterećeni
Broj poginulih u razarajućim poplavama u Njemačkoj popeo se u nedjelju na preko 150, a kancelarka Angela Merkel posjetit će danas pogođena područja u zapadnoj pokrajini Porajnje-Falačka.
Policija je u nedjelju ujutro priopćila da se broj poginulih u toj pokrajini popeo na 110, čime je ukupan broj smrtno stradalih u zemlji narastao na preko 150 ljudi, uključujući i 45 poginulih u pokrajini Sjeverna Rajna-Vestfalija.
Policija je potvrdila da je 670 ljudi ozlijeđeno u okrugu Ahrweiler, koji je u središtu krize u Porajnu-Falačkoj, upozoravajući da bi broj žrtava mogao još rasti.
U mnogim drugim okolnim područjima još uvijek nema struje niti su u funkciji telefonske linije.
U pokrajini Gornja Bavarska, okrug Berchtesgadener Land proglasio je u subotu navečer situaciju katastrofalnih poplava, a dvoje ljudi poginulo je u tom području.
Kancelarka Merkel planira posjetiti općinu Eifel u Schuldu, koja je posebno jako pogođena olujom, kako bi dobila bolji uvid u situaciju.
Obilne kiše izazvale poplave u Saskoj, poplave i u Austriji
Iznimno obilne kiše, kojih je palo više od 100 litara po četvornome metru, izazvale su u subotu poplave u njemačkoj pokrajini Saskoj, na istoku zemlje.
Poplave su pogodile popularno turističko područje poznato kao Saska Švicarska, brdovito područje uz dolinu Elbe blizu Dresdena.
Uprava okruga objavila je tijekom večeri da nekoliko gradova nije dostupno te da su osobito pogođeni Neustadt, Sebnitz, Bad Schandau, Reinhardtsdorf-Schoena i Gohrisch.
Vlasti su pozvale stanovnike da napuste podrume, podzemne garaže i podzemnu željeznicu. Uz to, upozoreni su da poplavljene ceste i putevi mogu predstavljati veliku opasnost.
Prema pokrajinskom centru za poplave razina voda 4 premašena je na mjernoj stanici Neustadt 1 na rijeci Polenz.
U donjem toku rijeka Kirnitzsch, Sebnitz i Lachsbach zabilježen je “ekstremni porast vodostaja”.
