STIŽE BIDENOV ČOVJEK OD POVJERENJA: MICHAEL MURPHY USKORO SLUŽBENO POSTAJE NOVI AMERIČKI AMBASADOR U BIH
Nominacija Michaela Murphyja za poziciju novog američkog ambasadora u Bosni i Hercegovini proslijeđena je u Senat, potvrđeno je iz Bijele kuće.
Krajem prošle sedmice, predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Joe Biden najavio je ovu nominaciju i šest drugih za, kako je navedeno, sedam ključnih pozicija, a kako bi se procedura imenovanja zaključila, potrebno je da je odobri Senat.
Murphy je veteran američke službe za vanjske poslove sa 29-godišnjim iskustvom, koji trenutno radi kao zamjenik pomoćnika državnog sekretara za europska i euroazijska pitanja.
Njegov portfelj uključuje evropsku sigurnost, kontrolu konvencionalnog naoružanja i arktičku sigurnost, navodi se u biografiji na stranici State Departmenta.
Murphy je ranije bio zamjenik šefa misije u američkoj Ambasadi na Kosovu, od 2009. do 2012. godine, a tri godine ranije bio je politički savjetnik u Ambasadi SAD-a u Sarajevu, u Bosni i Hercegovini.
