Seibert je u saopćenju naveo da je u konsultaciji s izraelskim premijerom Naftalijem Bennettom, posjeta kancelarke Merkel otkazana zbog trenutne situacije u Afganistanu.
U saopćenju je istaknuto da su se obje strane složile da posjeta bude upriličena nekada kasnije.
Novinar u Kabulu preveo je i poslao ovu izjavu glasnogovornika talibana Zabiullaha Mudžahida, koji je rekao da je Amerikancima rečeno da postoji mogućnost napada Islamske države na aerodrom u Kabulu, javio je Guardian.
“Talibani su predani međunarodnoj zajednici i neće dopustiti teroristima da koriste Afganistan kao bazu za svoje operacije. Talibani su upozorili američke trupe na moguće terorističke grupe poput ISIS -a”, rekao je Mudžahid.
