Poginuo karikaturista koji je crtao poslanika Muhammada
Umjetnik iz Švedske Lars Vilks, poznat po tome što je nacrtao karikaturu poslanika Muhammada na kojoj je na tijelu psa nacrtao njegovu glavu, poginuo je u saobraćajnoj nesreći, javio je BBC pozivajući se na lokalne medije.
Kako se navodi, Vilks je bio u automobilu civilne policije koji se sudario sa kamionom u blizini grada Markaryda, na jugu Švedske, prenio je Tanjug.
Poginula su i dva policajca, a vozač kamiona je povrijeđen.
Vilks je bio pod policijskom zaštitom od 2007. godine, pošto je dobio prijetnje smrću zbog karikature poslanika.
Al-Kaida ponudila 100.000 dolara za ubistvo
Policija je saopštila da za sada nije jasno kako je došlo do sudara.
Nakon što je objavio karikaturu, Al-Kaida u Iraku ponudila je nagradu od 100.000 dolara za njegovo ubistvo.
Prije objavljivanja te karikature Vilks uglavnom nije bio poznat van Švedske.
U svojoj zemlji je bio najpoznatiji po tome što je bez dozvole izgradio skulpturu od drveća u prirodnom rezervatu u južnoj Švedskoj, što je izazvalo dug pravni spor.
Kažnjen je novčanom kaznom, ali skulptura na obali – gomila drveta zakovana na haotičan način – privlači desetke hiljada posjetilaca godišnje.
