SAD: Bidenova administracija traži saradnju s Turskom na bazi zajedničkih prioriteta

Ministarstvo vanjskih poslova Sjedinjenih Američkih Država (SAD) saopćilo je da administracija američkog predsjednika Joea Bidena radi na uspostavi saradnje sa Turskom na bazi zajedničkih prioriteta i da će kao NATO saveznici rješenja nesuglasica tražiti dijalogom, javlja Anadolu Agency (AA).

Glasnogovornik State Departmenta Ned Price komentirao je aktuelnu situaciju u odnosima između SAD-a i Turske i poručio da se saradnja nastavlja.

“Uvjereni smo da je pogled naprijed i saradnja na poljima zajedničkog interesa najbolji put i znamo da imamo veoma mnogo zajedničkih interesa sa Turskom“, kazao je Price.

Rekao je da američki ambasador u Turskoj David Satterfield i dalje obnaša tu dužnost i da će SAD u globalnom smislu nastaviti zagovarati vladavinu prava i poštivanja ljudskih prava.

Price je o izjavi američke ambasade u Ankari, koju je podržalo još devet ambasada, u vezi sa slučajem “Kavala“ kazao da SAD u odnosima sa Turskom poštuje Bečku konvenciju o diplomatskim odnosima.

Ambasade Sjedinjenih Američkih Država, Njemačke, Danske, Finske, Francuske, Holandije, Švedske, Kanade, Norveške i Novog Zelanda oglasile su se nedavno putem profila na društvenim mrežama tvrdeći kako “sudski proces protiv Osmana Kavale baca sjenu na demokratiju i vladavinu prava u Turskoj” te su pozvale na njegovo oslobađanje.

Nakon objava na društvenim mrežama, Ministarstvo vanjskih poslova Turske pozvalo je na razgovor ambasadore tih država, a turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan je u subotu kazao kako je dao upute ministru vanjskih poslova da se deset stranih ambasadora proglasi personama non grata u Turskoj.

Ambasade spomenutih država danas su izdale saopćenja u kojima potvrđuju da će poštovati 41. član Bečke konvencije o diplomatskim odnosima, što je protumačeno kao njihov korak unazad u odnosu na prvobitne kontraverzne izjave o slučaju “Kavala“.

Osman Kavala je jedan od 52 optuženih u sudskom postupku vezanom za slučajeve pokušaja puča u Turskoj 2016. godine terorističke organizacije FETO i događaja u Gezi parku. Turski predsjednik je kazao kako je Osman Kavala podružnica Soroša u Turskoj, a izjave ambasadora okarakterisao je kao izraz neodgoja.
