Član Predsjedništva BiH Džaferović u Vukovaru
Treba na vrijeme reagirati i na vrijeme odvraćati zlo, rekao je član Predsjedništva BiH Šefik Džaferović
Žrtve zaslužuju poštovanje, pravdu, a zločinci zaslužuju kaznu, rekao je član Predsjedništva Bosne i Hercegovine (BiH) Šefik Džaferović koji prisustvuje obilježavanju Dana sjećanja na žrtve Vukovara 1991.-2021., javlja Anadolu Agency (AA).
Džaferović je danas učesnik Kolone sjećanja ulicama Vukovara, od Nacionalne memorijalne bolnice do Memorijalnog groblja žrtava iz Domovinskog rata, a odat će počast i položiti vijenac na Spomen-obilježje na Memorijalnom groblju žrtava iz Domovinskog rata.
Član Predsjedništva BiH u izjavi medijima rekao je kako je Vukovar grad posebnog pijeteta i grad heroj.
”Želim da učešćem u Koloni sjećanja na žrtve Vukovara i polaganjem cvijeća na Memorijalnom groblju iskažem svoje poštovanje prema braniocima Vukovara i prema žrtvama velikosrpske agresije. Žrtve zaslužuju poštovanje, pravdu, a zločinci zaslužuju kaznu“, rekao je Džaferović.
Dodao je kako još uvijek nisu svi odgovarali za ono što su učinili u Vukovaru.
”Nikada ne treba odustati dok to ne bude dovedeno do samog kraja. Još uvijek, iako je proteklo 30 godina, svježe su slike barbarskog razbijanja, bombardiranja i rušenja Vukovara. Te slike, kao i apeli za pomoć, obišle su cijeli svijet. Odgovorni ljudi u tadašnjem svijetu nisu prepoznali šta se dešava. Nisu reagirali. Zlo, velikosrpska agresija kasnije se raširila i na druga područja Hrvatske te cijelu BiH”, rekao je Džaferović.
Podsjetio je kako su izvršeni masovni zločini, a sve je kulminiralo genocidom u Srebrenici.
”Ovo je poruka i za cijeli današnji svijet, za današnje trenutke koje proživljavamo u regionu. Treba na vrijeme reagirati i na vrijeme odvraćati zlo”, rekao je Džaferović.
Zahvalio je svima koji svake godine učestvuju u maratonu Vukovar-Srebrenica, odajući poštovanje žrtvama genocida u Srebrenici.
Dan sjećanja na žrtve Domovinskog rata i Dan sjećanja na žrtvu Vukovara i Škabrnje državni je blagdan koji se obilježava 18. novembra u sjećanje na dan kada je 1991. slomljena odbrana grada Vukovara, počinjen pokolj u Škabrnji te kada su svoje junaštvo iskazali branitelji Saborskoga, Slunja, Cetingrada te Rakovice.
Ovaj dan se obilježava u znak sjećanja na pad grada Vukovara 18. novembra 1991. godine pod kontrolu okupacionih snaga srpskih paravojnih formacija i tadašnje Jugoslovenske narodne armije (JNA). Opsada i bitka za Vukovar trajala je tri mjeseca, od 24. augusta do 18. novembra 1991. godine. Grad, koji je do pada u ruke JNA pretvoren u ruševinu, branilo je blizu 1.800 pripadnika hrvatskih snaga. Linija odbrane bila je duga deset kilometara.
U bitkama je poginulo između 2.900 i 3.600 ljudi. Prema podacima vukovarske bolnice, stradala su 1.624 civila i pripadnika Hrvatske vojske, a ranjeno je 1.219 osoba. Više od 22.000 prijeratnih stanovnika ostalo je bez svojih domova i protjerano je.
Vukovar je, sedam godina nakon pada, mirno reintegrisan. U gradu, u kojem je prije rata živjelo više od 44.000 stanovnika, sada ih je nešto više od 27.000.
Uz žrtvu Vukovara, obilježava se i sjećanje na pokolj 43 hrvatska civila u Škabrnji počinjenog istoga dana 1991. godine.
Međunarodni krivični sud za bivšu Jugoslaviju u Haagu osudio je Mileta Mrkšića, jednog od zapovjednika jedinica JNA, na 20 godina zatvora zbog ubistava i mučenja, a Veselina Šljivančanina na deset godina zatvora zbog mučenja, ali je oslobođen optužbi za genocid i istrebljenje nesrba, dok je Miroslava Radića oslobodio optužbi.
Optužen je i uhapšen i Slavko Dokmanović, ratni predsjednik SO Vukovar, ali je prije izricanja presude 1998. počinio samoubistvo. Zločini u Vukovaru bili su dio optužnice i protiv nekadašnjeg predsjednika Srbije Slobodana Miloševića, koji nije dočekao presudu, jer je umro u pritvoru Haškog tribunala 2006. godine.
Vojislav Šešelj, vođa “Belih orlova“, oslobođen je pred MKSJ optužbi za zločine protiv čovječnosti i kršenja zakona i običaja ratovanja, između ostalog, i u sukobima u Vukovaru.
