Britanski premijer Boris Johnson najavio je da idućeg tjedna ukida većinu restriktivnih mjera uvedenih radi suzbijanja covida-19

Britanija mora naučiti živjeti s covidom-19 budući da će ta bolest među nama možda ostati zauvijek, rekao je u četvrtak britanski ministar zdravstva Sajid Javid dok njegova zemlja ukida većinu mjera.

“Moramo naučiti s tim živjeti. Nažalost, ljudi umiru i od gripe: u teškoj godini s gripom možete nažalost izgubiti oko 20.000 života, ali zato ne zatvaramo čitavu zemlju”, rekao je Javid za Sky News.

“Covid neće otići. Bit će među nama još puno, puno godina, možda i zauvijek, i moramo naučiti s tim živjeti… Mislim da smo predvodnici u Europi u tranziciji s pandemije u endemiju i vodeći smo u tome da pokažemo svijetu kako se može živjeti s covidom”.

Britanski premijer Boris Johnson najavio je u srijedu da idućeg tjedna ukida većinu restriktivnih mjera uvedenih radi suzbijanja omikron inačice koronavirusa u Engleskoj te da u ožujku planira ukinuti izolaciju za osobe pozitivne na virus.

Od četvrtka 27. siječnja nošenje maske neće više biti obvezno, rad od kuće se više neće službeno preporučivati, a covid potvrda neće biti obvezna za ulazak u noćne klubove i na pojedina veća okupljanja, rekao je konzervativni čelnik u parlamentu.

“S obzirom da covid postaje endemska bolest, moramo zakonske obveze zamijeniti naputcima i preporukama”, istaknuo je Boris Johnson.

Rekao je da ne planira produljiti obvezu izolacije za osobe pozitivne na covid-19 nakon njezina isteka 24. ožujka. Tu će obvezu možda ukinuti i prije tog datuma.

“Nećemo zakonski prisiljavati ljude na izolaciju ako imaju gripu”, rekao je.

U Velikoj Britaniji je više od 152.000 ljudi umrlo od covida-19. Najnoviji raspoloživi podatci pokazuju pad novozaraženih od gotovo 40 posto na tjednoj razini, a broj hospitaliziranih se stabilizirao.
