Ministar odbrane Kosova: Primite nas u NATO i postavite stalnu bazu snaga SAD
Ministar odbrane Kosova Armend Mehaj uputio je poziv NATO-u da ubrzano primi Kosovo u članstvo i uspostavi stalnu bazu američkih snaga kako bi “osigurali mir i stabilnost na Zapadnom Balkanu i šire”. Pozvao je i zemlje, koje to nisu učinile do sada, da priznaju nezavisnost Kosova.
“Na temelju realnosti nastale nakon vojne agresije Rusije na Ukrajinu i njenog odraza na opći sigurnosni sistem u okruženju Zapadnog Balkana, Evrope i svijeta, tražimo od SAD i svih saveznika i partnerskih zemalja da ubrzano primi Kosovo u NATO. Republika Kosovo i njeni građani pokazali su odlučnost da smo dostojni borci u odbrani euroatlantskih vrijednosti – slobode, mira i demokratije”, naveo je Mehaj.
Potom je uputio poruku saveznicima i članicama NATO-a da ih priznaju.
“Naši saveznici i vi zemlje, članice NATO-a, koje se ustručavate da priznate državnu Republiku Kosovo, ne oklijevajte više. Ovo je vrijeme kada svi odgovorni narodi ne smiju isključiti nikoga u zajedničkoj viziji i pred zajedničkim zlom. Kosovo i njegov narod, u ovo vrijeme zajedničkih izazova, kao i uvijek, snažno stoje s vama na pravoj strani historije”, rekao je Mehaj.
Ponovio je zahtjev za uspostavu Stalne baze američkih snaga, kao “potpunu garanciju mira i stabilnosti”.
“Mi smo, zajedno, svjesni izazova, prijetnji i potencijalnih rizika. Moramo djelovati danas kako bismo spriječili nepredvidivo zlo za region, kontinent i zemaljsku kuglu”, rekao je Mehaj.
