Grupa evropskih zastupnika iz liberalne političke grupacije u Evropskom parlamentu (EP) je pozvala Evropsku uniju (EU) da obustavi pregovore o članstvu sa Srbijom ukoliko država ne uskladi svoju vanjsku politiku sa politikom zvaničnog Brisela po pitanju Rusije.
U pismu koje je devet evropskih liberala uputilo predsjednici Evropske komisije Ursuli von der Leyen i njenom potpredsjedniku Josepu Borrellu izražava se duboka zabrinutost zbog “očiglednog nepoštovanja” obaveza koje je Srbija preuzela kao zemlja kandidat za članstvo u EU.
“Pozivamo (Evropsku) komisiju da još jednom pozove srbijanske vlasti da se pridruže zajedničkom stavu EU o Rusiji. Ukoliko Srbija još jednom odluči da ignoriše ovaj poziv, tražimo privremeno zamrzavanje pregovora o pristupanju EU sa Vladom Srbije i uskraćivanje finansijske podrške sve dok ne preduzme kredibilne, opipljive i nedvosmislene radnje u cilju usaglašavanja svojih izjava, politika i vrijednosti onima Evropske unije”, navodi se u pismu koje je potpisalo devet zatupnika EP-a, u koji je Radio Slobodna Evropa (RSE) imao uvid.
U tekstu pisma se iznosi čvrsto uvjerenje potpisnika da Srbija pokazuje opasan pomak ka autoritarizmu koji je u oštroj suprotnosti sa njenom paralelnom težnjom za pridruživanjem Evropskoj uniji, “a ova dvosmislenost je dostigla kulminaciju odbijanjem da uvede sankcije Rusiji kao odgovor na njenu agresiju na Ukrajinu”.
Srbija je, pored Bjelorusije, jedina država na evropskom kontinentu koja nije uvela sankcije Rusiji zbog napada na Ukrajinu. Kao jedina zemlja kandidat za punopravno članstvo u EU, Srbija nije uskladila svoju vanjsku politiku s evropskom politikom prema Rusiji.
EU je u više navrata poručivala da od Srbije, kao zemlje kandidata za EU, očekuje da uskladi politiku sa zvaničnim Briselom.
Potpisnici pisma navode da su uvijek bili svjesni posebnih veza Srbije sa Rusijom, zbog čega su, kako se kaže, srbijanske vlasti zadržale dvosmislen stav u pogledu svojih istinskih namjera da ispoštuju obaveze preuzete u okviru pristupanja EU.
Spominje se također da je posljednjih godina Srbija pojačala saradnju sa režimom ruskog predsjednika Vladimira Putina, posebno u oblasti energetike i vojno-tehničke saradnje, te je pooštrila odnose sa bjeloruskim predsjednikom Aleksandrom Lukašenkom i da je od obojice dobijala velikodušne donacije oružja.
Oni također ocjenjuju “zapanjujućim” da poslije godina pretpristupne podrške i intenzivnih pregovora, medijska scena Srbije, koja, kako se navodi, jeste čvrsto pod kontrolom vladajuće stranke SNS . veliča Putina i širi lažne vijesti o EU i ruskoj agresiji u Ukrajini na dnevnoj bazi.
Grupa evropskih liberala u pismu podvlači neophodnst da se Srbija jasno izjasni o njenoj političkoj orijentaciji.
“Srbija ima puno pravo da slijedi Putinov model ako to želi, ali mora biti jasna u svojim namjerama i prestati da se pretvara da ima ozbiljne aspiracije za članstvo u EU. Srbija je slobodna da odluči u kom pravcu želi da ide, ali ne može i dalje da se smatra sagovornikom od povjerenja i ne može da nastavi da koristi pretpristupnu finansijsku pomoć dok se ne odluči”, navodi se u pismu.
Oni u pismu navode da je pozicioniranje o ratu u Ukrajini pitanje ne samo evropskih vrijednosti, već i vrijednosti na kojima je sagrađen međunarodni pravni poredak poslije Drugog svjetskog rata.
Grupa evropskih liberala upozrava u pismu da, bez obzira na zahtjev za privremenu obustavu pregovora o članstvu i finansijske pomoći, smatra da treba nadalje podržavati proevropsko civilno društvo, kao i mala i srednja preduzeća, koja prema njima predstavljaju srž privrede i društva Srbije.
