Sve oči uperene u Katar: Danas kreće Mundijal i lov na Francusku
Svjetsko prvenstvo u fudbalu, 22. po redu, a prvo koje se održava u arapskom svijetu, počinje danas u Kataru.
Na Mundijalu sudjeluju 32 države. Turnir će trajati 29 dana, a ukupno 64 meča igrat će se na osam spektakularnih stadiona u pet različitih gradova.
Procjenjuje se da će Katar tokom Svjetskog prvenstva posjetiti milion ljudi, a domaćin je na organizaciju potrošio više od 200 milijardi dolara, što je apsolutni rekord.
Prvi put u historiji Mundijal se igra od novembra do sredine decembra, a razlog su izuzetno visoke temperature u Kataru tokom ljetnih mjeseci.
Titulu prvaka svijeta brani Francuska. Trikolori su prije četiri godine pokorili Rusiju.
Brazil je sa pet titula prvaka najuspješnija reprezentacija u historiji svjetskih prvaka. Karioke su i Kataru među glavnim favoritima, iako “poste” od 2002. godine. Po četiri puta prvaci svijeta bili su Njemačka i Italija, po dva naslova prvaka osvojili su Argentina, Francuska i Urugvaj, a Engleska i Španija po jednom.
Regiju će u Kataru predstavljati Hrvatska, aktuelni viceprvak svijeta i Srbija, koja predvođena Draganom Stojkovićem Piksijem ima visoke ambicije.
Jedini susret prvog dana takmičenja igraju domaćin Katar i Ekvador u grupi A.
Utakmicu kojom se otvara Mundijal sudit će 46-godišnji italijanski sudija Daniele Orsato. Meč na stadionu Al Bayt, kapaciteta 60.000 mjesta, na programu je u 17 sati.
Gledatelji u Bosni i Hercegovini mečeve mogu pratiti na BHRT-u i MY TV, programu koji se emitira na BH Telecomovoj platformi Moja TV.

Grupa C: Argentina, Saudijska Arabija, Meksiko, Poljska
Grupa D: Francuska, Danska, Tunis, Australija
