Dan nakon što je plitki potres magnitude 5,6 pogodio područje nedaleko od indonezijske prijestolnice Džakarte, pri čemu je poginulo više od 100 ljudi, radnici su u utorak počeli uklanjati posljedice klizišta zbog kojih je nekoliko sela ostalo izolirano.
Podaci vladinih institucija o broju žrtava nakon potresa u ponedjeljak ne podudaraju se. Potres je razorio okrug Cianjur u pokrajini Zapadnoj Javi, pretvorivši mnoge domove u ruševine.
Nacionalna agencija za potragu i spašavanje (Basarnas) procijenila je da je poginulo 162 ljudi.
Nacionalna agencija za upravljanje katastrofama (BNPB) priopćila je je poginulo 103 ljudi prema njezinim podacima od utorka ujutro, dok se 31 osoba još uvijek vodi kao nestala.
Glasnogovornik BNPB-a Abdul Muharirekao je da je moguće da su neka tijela prebrojana dva puta zbog početne zabune.
Više od 370 ljudi je ozlijeđeno, rekao je.
Spasioci su od ponedjeljka navečer pronašli 14 tijela zatrpanih u klizištu prouzročenom potresom, rekao je načelnik kopnene vojske general Dudung Abdurachman, koji nadgled radove na uklanjanju ruševina u pogođenom području.
“Još uvijek tražimo žrtve”, rekao je.
Rovokopači i kiper kamioni raspoređeni su kako bi otvorili pristup područjima pogođenim klizištima u selu Cugenang u Cianjuru, rekao je Endra Atmawidjaja,glasnogovornik ministarstva javnih radova.
