Aleksander Čeferin: U UEFA Ligi nacija igrat će se fudbal najboljih na svijetu
Svjetsko prvenstvo u Rusiji pomoglo je da se naglase dvije stvari. U prvom redu – kolika je snaga i širina evropskog fudbala, rekao je Aleksander Čeferin, predsjednik Evropske fudbalske asocijacije (UEFA), prenosi Anadolu Agency (AA).
”Zaslužena pobjeda Francuske, četvrti je uzastopni trijumf evropskih ekipa na Svjetskim prvenstvima. Hrvatska je plasmanom u finale ostvarila veličanstven uspjeh, pa smo treći put u posljednja četiri finala gledali duele evropskih selekcija. Uz to, Evropa je dala 13 od 16 polufinalista sa posljednja četiri Svjetska prvenstva. Osam ekipa iz Evrope igralo je polufinale Svjetskog prvenstva u ovom vijeku, dok je još 13 evropskih selekcija igralo četvrtfinale. Evropa nije samo dom uspješnih klubova, već i bogat rasadnik talentovanih igrača, trenera sa vizijom i konkurentnih nacionalnih timova”, istakao je Čeferin, naglasivši:
”Svjetsko prvenstvo je, takođe, potvrdilo da postoji veliki apetit za reprezentativnim fudbalom. UEFA je toga oduvijek bila svjesna, kao i činjenice da reprezentativni fudbal zaslužuje više nego što jedan završni turnir na svaka dva ljeta može da mu ponudi. Navijači su svjesni činjenice da prijateljske utakmice često podbace na takmičarskom planu, i da samim tim gube smisao. Bilo je neophodno rebalansirati odnos klupskog i reprezentativnog fudbala. To je rezon koji nas je doveo do UEFA Lige nacija, koja će startovati 6. septembra”.
