Bajević nije više selektor BiH: Nije me stid, ponosan sam

Nismo mogli ništa danas da uradimo. Žao mi je i osjećam se krivim što nisam zamijenio Sinišu Saničanina prije povrede. Dečko je davao sve od sebe, igrao sve utakmice, ne žali se nikada i zaista mi ga je žao, rekao je Duško Bajević koji je večeras posljednji put u ulozi selektora vodio fudbalsku reprezentaciju Bosne i Hercegovine u porazu od Italije, rezultatom 0:2, javlja Anadolu Agency (AA).
Bajević će ostati upisan kao selektor bez trijumfa u najgoroj kalendarskoj godini u 25-godišnjoj historiji nacionalnog tima BiH, u kojem je u osam mečeva ostvareno šest poraza i dva remija. BiH je s Bajevićem ispala u UEFA Ligu nacija B te je eliminisana u polufinalu baraža za plasman na EURO pa je slavni igrač i trener iz BiH na neslavan način završio jedanaestomjesečnu epizodu na klupi državnog tima.
“Nije me stid, ponosan sam što sam bio na čelu reprezentacije. Pokušali smo i nikoga ne treba da optužujete, ja sam taj krivac. Zahvalio bih se igračima i saradnicima u stručnom štabu. Najveća šteta je što nismo uspjeli da pobijedimo Sjevernu Irsku u baražu za EURO”, kazao je Bajević, dodavši:
“Treba izabrati sada novog selektora i on će znati šta treba uraditi. Ne trebam mu davati savjete. Otvorili smo vrata nekim igračima. Treba vremena da igramo fudbal kakav želi publika. Reprezentacija BiH ima dobre igrače i vjerujem da će novi selektor sastaviti dobru ekipu. Treba postaviti ciljevi. Ako nemaš cilj, nemaš ništa. Ne može drugačije”.
O informaciji da je došlo do incidenta, tj. skoro i fizičkog obračuna između Bajevića i Zvjezdana Misimovića, v.d. tehničkog direktora, danas u hotelu reprezentacije BiH na Ilidži, odlazeći selektor je revoltiran rekao:
“Njih zanima više ovo nego utakmica. Ništa se nije desilo, šta se desilo. Razgovarali smo i ništa više”.
