Budući austrijski kancelar Alexander Schallenberg: Teritorijalni integritet i suverenitet BiH su neupitni
Alexander Schallenberg naslijedit će Sebastiana Kurza na mjestu državnog kancelara Austrije, a na najvišu poziciju u izvršnoj vlasti dolazi sa mjesta šefa diplomatije. Upravo u tom svojstvu Schallenberg je u maju ove godine boravio u Sarajevu, a tokom radne posjete poslao je snažne poruke podrške našoj zemlji.
– Poruka EU i Austrije danas je vrlo jasna i kratka – mi vas nećemo ostaviti na cjedilu – kazao je Schallenberg na press konferenciji s ministricom vanjskih poslova BiH Biserom Turković.
Istakao je vrlo bliske i široke međuljudske odnose između Bosne i Hercegovine i Austrije, s obzirom na činjenicu da u Austriji živi više od 200.000 osoba porijeklom iz BiH.
– Pomoći BiH danas znači pomoći samom sebi – poručio je tada Schallenberg.
On je posebno podvukao da je BiH ključna zemlja u regionu i da bez stabilne BiH ni region ne može biti stabilan.
– Teritorijalni integritet i suverenitet BiH su neupitni i ne mogu biti predmet pregovora – poručio je on.
Rekao je i da smatra da BiH ima dobru priliku u ovoj godini u pogledu približavanja EU, i dodaje kako će Austrija ostati aktivna i u okviru svojih mogućnosti pružiti podršku da se postignu željeni rezultati.
– Kristalno je jasno da je budućnost BiH i regiona u EU. U tom smislu mi jasno zagovaramo da sve države ovog regiona budu uključene u konferenciju o budućnosti EU. Svakako mislimo da tu pripadaju i zemlje za koje želimo da što prije budu dio evropske porodice – zaključio je Schallenberg.
Inače, Alexander Schallenberg rođen je 1969. godine u švicarskom Bernu, gdje mu je otac služio kao ambasador Austrije. Kao dijete diplomate pored Švicarske, odrastao je u Indiji, Španiji i Francuskoj. Po struci je pravnik, a od 1997. godine zaposlen je u Ministarstvu vanjskih poslova Austrije. Od juna 2019. godine šef je austrijske diplomatije.
