Dva B-1B Lancer bombardera Zračnih snaga Sjedinjenih Američkih Država izvršit će danas niski prelet iznad Sarajeva i drugih gradova u Bosni i Hercegovini kao znak čvrstog partnerstva između SAD-a i Oružanih snaga BiH (OSBiH) i trajne posvećenosti suverenitetu, teritorijalnom integritetu i multietničkom karakteru BiH.

Mediji će biti u prilici snimiti niski prelet bombardera, saradnju komunikacijskih timova Vojske SAD i Oružanih snaga BiH, kao i izjave ambasadora SAD-a u BiH Majkla Marfija (Michalea Murphya), ministra odbrane BiH Zukana Heleza i načelnika Zajedničkog štaba Oružanih snaga BiH generalpukovnika Senad Mašović.

  • Prelet pokazuje našu posvećenost izgradnji snažnih bilateralnih odnosa i dokaz je naših zajedničkih vrijednosti i ciljeva. Saradnjom i razumijevanjem gradimo put ka budućnosti mira, sigurnosti i prosperiteta u regionu – dodao je.

Vojni događaj
Bombarderi će preletjeti Sarajevo, ali će se ta dva bombardera B-1B moći vidjeti u cijeloj zemlji. Letjelice će učestvovati i u zajedničkom vojnom događaju u blizini Tuzle koji će uključivati angažman Zajedničke taktičke zračne kontrole Oružanih snaga BiH i Specijalnih snaga Vojske SAD.

Bombarderi B-1B stacionirani su u bazi RAF Fairford, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo, u okviru najnovijeg ciklusa operacije Udarna grupa bombardera (Bomber Task Force). Misije u okviru ove operacije omogućavaju vazduhoplovcima da kontinuirano provode hitne operacije širom svijeta s ciljem održavanja globalne stabilnosti i sigurnosti, istovremeno omogućavajući jedinicama da se upoznaju sa operacijama u raznim regionima.

Veliki domet
Avion B-1B je teški bombarder velikog dometa koji od svih letjelica u Zrakoplovstvu može nositi najveći konvencionalni teret navođenih i nenavođenih projektila. Višenamjenski B-1B je okosnica američkih snaga za dalekometno djelovanje. Sposoban je u kratkom roku koristiti velike količine preciznog i nepreciznog naoružanja protiv svakog neprijatelja, bilo gdje u svijetu, bilo kada.

Kako navode iz Ministarstva odbrane BiH, potrebno je imati u vidu činjenicu da prelet može biti otkazan u svakom trenutku, čak i bez prethodne najave, zbog vremenskih uvjeta ili zahtjeva vezanih za vojnu misiju letjelica.
