Erdogan na otvaranju nove brane: U budućnosti će se borba voditi za vodne resurse
Predsjednik Turske Recep Tayyip Erdogan izjavio je u subotu da uslijed klimatskih promjena, suša, porasta stanovništva i urbanizacije sve više rastu pritisci na vodne resurse u svijetu.
“Brana Ilisu je najbolji odgovor neprijateljima Turske i onima koji su javnosti poznati po svom neprijateljstvu prema vlastitoj zemlji i naciji”, rekao je Erdogan u obraćanju na ceremoniji otvaranja brane “Ilısu prof. dr. Veysel Eroglu” u Batmanu.
“Ova brana i hidroelektrana koju danas puštamo u rad, jedan je od najkonkretnijih primjera našeg cilja da služimo javnosti već 19 godina i naše politike pružanja potrebnih usluga građanima“, dodao je turski lider.
Naglasio je da će brana Ilisu, čiji kapacitet skladištenja vode iznosi oko 11 milijardi kubnih metara, snage od 1.200 megavata, Turskoj godišnje osigurati finansijsku korist od tri milijarde lira.
“Voda znači život u našoj civilizaciji. Energija je još jedan nezamjenjiv izvor života danas. Stoga je ovo projekat koji našoj zemlji pruža veoma važne prilike i mogućnosti”, rekao je Erdogan.
Kako je pojasnio, sve su češći pritisci na vodne resurse u svijetu.
“Klimatskim promjenama, sušom, porastom stanovništva i urbanizacijom, pritisci na vodne resurse sve više rastu. Uprkos povećanju broja stanovnika sa tri na osam milijardi u posljednjih 60 godina, količina padavina na zemlju koju imamo nije se promijenila. Štaviše, sve su češće katastrofe koje su povezane sa klimatskim promjenama, poput suša, poplava i šumskih požara”, rekao je Erdogan te dodao:
“Zaštita vodnih resursa prije nego što dostignu granicu potrošnje, njihovo efikasno korištenje i ispravno upravljanje postalo je obaveza, a ne izbor.”
Smatra da će se u budućnosti borba voditi oko vodnih resursa.
“Evidentno je da će se u narednom periodu voditi borba za vodne resurse i proizvodnju hrane, na sličan način kako se to u prošlosti radilo za naftu”, kazao je Erdogan.
