Svaki grad, a Gradačac posebno, ima svoje simbole. Na branicima slobode gordo stoje Kula Husein-kapetana Gradaščevića oko koje se razvio grad Zmaja od Bosne, veliki ljiljan na koti Bandera sagrađen prošle godine u znak zahvalnosti svim braniocima BiH, oklopni voz u selu Ledenice Donje, simbol neviđene hrabrosti boraca Armije RBiH.
Hiljade granata
Sutra Gradačac obilježava Dan općine. Tog 22. oktobra 1992. godine gradačački vitezovi zajedno s pridodatim jedinicama Drugog korpusa ARBiH nadljudskim naporima izvojevali su jednu od najslavnijih bitaka – bitku za oklopni voz.
Tog odsudnog dana trebalo je imati srce pa stati pred čeličnu grdosiju, neprijateljski čelični oklopnjak pun specijalaca, oružja i municije, građen negdje u Banjoj Luci i dorađivan u Doboju, a napravljen s debelim pancirnim gumama. Pravljen je tako da mu ne može niko ništa.
No, zločincu Radovanu Karadžiću nije se dalo da, kako je najavljivao, popije kafu na Kuli Zmaja od Bosne. On danas čami u Sheveningenu, a branitelji Gradačca slave pobjedu.
Naša ekipa ovih dana posjetila je borce koji se pripremaju za još jedno obilježavanje godišnjice bitke koja je spasila Gradačac. Jedan od njih, pripadnik Sedmog bataljona 107. slavne gradačake brigade Munever Beširović prisjeća se kako su hiljade granata u osvit tog 22. oktobra 92. zasule grad.
Natjerani u bijeg
– Gorjeli su i nebo i zemlja. Tukli su nas tenkovima, topovima, haubicama, minobacačima, pragom, a onda su na nas krenuli oklopnim vozom. Bio je to užas, ne znaš šta na tebe ide, šta vozi i kako ga zaustaviti – svjedoči Beširović.
Beširović: Bili smo jači od čelika i oklopa
Posebno strašno je, kaže, izgledao moment kada je iz oklopnjaka otvorena paljba iz PAT-ova, PAM-ova, minobača, puškomitraljeza.
Tada je s naših linija zatražena pomoć i ubrzo su stigli gradačački borci, pripadnici Sedmog bataljona 107. viteške brigade, a stigao je i tenk, RPG, četa Požarike. Agresor je uskoro natjeran u bijeg. Uspjeli su otkačiti lokomotivu koja je išla zadnja i jedan vagon te nestati u pravcu Modriče, odakle su i došli.
Među prvima je u ispomoć sa svojih 40 boraca došao Omer Kurjaković (58), komandir čete u Sedmom bataljonu.
– Bitka je trajala cijeli dan. Navečer je uspostavljena naša linija odbrane, a sutradan u rano jutro smo oprezno ušli u čeličnu grdosiju i vidjeli koliki smo ratni plijen dobili u naoružanju i municiji. U ovoj bici smo izgubili četiri borca iz Gračanice i devet iz Gradačca. Nikada ih nećemo zaboraviti – kaže Kurjaković.
Umro pa oživio
– Mislio sam da će poslije ove bitke biti kraj rata, a onda me je 25. novembra iste godine u blizini ovog mjesta stiglo teško ranjavanje. Pogođen sam direktno u grudi. U ratnoj bolnici u Donjoj Međiđi ljekari su me proglasili mrtvim, pokrili su me čaršafom i gurnuli u ugao operacione sale, konstatirajući da sam „gotov”. Malo kasnije, na moju sreću, do mene je došao Adem ef. Hadžić i sasvim slučajno otkrio čaršaf da vidi ko pod njim mrtav leži. Uspio sam pomaknuti prstom, a efendija je povikao: “Ljudi, ovaj borac je živ!” – sjeća se Kurjaković.
