Nakon ubistva afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda ne stišavaju se neredi u Americi.Guverner Minnesote Tim Walz naredio najobimniju mobilizaciju nacionalne garde u historiji, a Pentagon je spremio posebne snage za pomoć u uspostavljanju reda u državi u kojoj već četiri dana traju neredi.
Vlasti tvrde da su nerede organizovali anarhisti, rasisti i agenti narkokartela. Ukupno 5.000 vojnika i policajaca nalazi se na ulicama Minneapolisa, piše Eyewitness.
Waltz se pojavio pred novinarima nakon brojnih nereda u gradovima i poslao jasnu poruku.
“Ovo je apsolutni haos. Ovo nije ispoljavanje tuge niti protest protiv nepravde. Ovo se mora popraviti. Idite kući. Preuzet ću odgovornost za podcjenjivanje bezobzirnog uništavanja i veličine ove gomile”, poručio je Waltz.
Smatra kako među uhapšenima ima najmanje stanovnika Minneapolisa i okolnih mjesta, već da se radi o organizovanim grupama koje su došle sa strane.
Povjerenik za javnu sigurnost John Harrington rekao je da su grupe demonstranata bile aktivne na nekoliko lokacija u gradu i da je ova komanda morala usmjeriti snage prema prioritetnim područjima.
“Jednostavno nismo imali dovoljno službenika i osoblja da bismo sve te misije sigurno i uspješno ispunili”, rekao je.
Walz je rekao da će sarađivati s predsjednikom kako bi upotrijebio federalne resurse ukoliko bude potrebno za kontrolu onoga što je nazvao “neviđenom prijetnjom državi”.
