Najavljujući skoru posjetu BiH, Kitarović je rekla da Hrvatska od samog početka podržala osnivanje haškog suda imajući u vidu obezbjeđivanje pravde na području država bivše Jugoslavije.
Smatra, međutim, da taj sud nije ostvario svoju ulogu jer se, kako je rekla, postavio kao politički arbitar, ne kao pravosudno tijelo.
“Sve ratne strahote koje su pogodile Hrvatsku i BiH imale su svoje ishodište u Slobodanu Miloševiću i JNA i ta činjenica u tom sudu nije prepoznata ili je svjesno zanemarena”, rekla je Kitarović i dodala da se JNA tokom proteklog rata “stvarila u otvarenja projekta velike Srbije.
Na samom početku obraćanja Kitarovićeva je rekla da je samoubistvo Slobodana Praljka, koji je juče osuđen za počinjeni ratni zločin, duboko u srce pogodio hrvatski narod”.
