Koliko su milijarderi zaradili od početka pandemije

Džef Bezos (Jeff), Bil Gejts (Bill Gates), Mark Zakerberg (Zuckerberg) i ostali američki milijarderi u posljednjih šest mjeseci, tokom trajanja pandemije, drastično su se obogatili, dok su ostali građani teško pogođeni krizom.

Najnoviji izvještaj Instituta za političke studije o nejednakosti bogatstva pokazuje da su 643 najbogatija Amerikanca povećala svoje bogatstvo za ogromnih 845 milijardi dolara između 18. marta i 15. septembra.

Njihovo ukupno bogatstvo na taj način je povećano za čak 29 posto, piše CNN.

U studiji se napominje da je brzi rast bogatstva povećao ukupnu neto vrijednost među onima koji najbolje zarađuju u državi sa 2,95 biliona na 3,8 biliona dolara.

Šokantni podaci

Na listi najviših zarada nalaze se izvršni direktor „Tesle“ Ilon Mask (Elon Musk), izvršni direktor „Oraclea“ Leri Elison (Larry Ellison) i bivši gradonačelnik Njujorka Majkl Blumberg (Michael Bloomberg). Studija se temelji na podacima o neto vrijednosti pojedinaca koje je pratio Forbes.

Čak Kolins (Chuck Collins), direktor Programa za nejednakost Instituta za političke studije, koji je koautor izvještaja, rekao je da su pomalo šokirani tim podacima, dodajući da kriza Covid-19 “povećava postojeće američke nejednakosti”. 

– Velika je razlika između dobiti milijardera i raširene ekonomske bijede u našoj naciji – rekao je on za CNN.  

Kolins je primijetio suprotan učinak krize na prosječnog američkog radnika, u odnosu na milijardere.

Pandemija je, naime, dovela do najgore krize nezaposlenosti od Velike depresije, sa stopom nezaposlenosti koja je u aprilu bila 14,7 posto, a u avgustu se vratila na 8,4 posto.  

U zemlji je i dalje 11,5 miliona radnih mjesta manje nego u februaru.

Politička rješenja

Kada je riječ o bogatima, u mnogim slučajevima rast vrijednosti imovine povezan je sa skokom dionica njihovih kompanija. 

Ove godine dionice „Amazona“ su porasle za više od 60 posto. Kao rezultat, izvršni direktor Džef Bezos (Jeff) bogatiji je za 55,2 milijarde dolara. 

Ukupna neto vrijednost imovine Alis (Alice), Džima (Jima) i Roba Valtona (Walton), čija je porodica osnovala „Walmart“, porasla je za više od 60 milijardi dolara od februara, budući da je dobit maloprodajnog diva porasla gotovo 80 posto u odnosu na prošlu godinu.

Imovina suosnivača „Googlea“ Lerija Pejdža (Larry Page) porasla je za više od 18 milijardi dolara od februara, dok se bogatstvo izvršnog direktora „Tesle“ Ilona Maska povećalo za oko 70 milijardi dolara u istom periodu.

Šest mjeseci od početka pandemije, Kolins je iznenađen koliko je ekonomski teret bio neravnomjeran za siromašne i srednju klasu u odnosu na bogate, u usporedbi s Velikom recesijom. 

Rekao je da Kongres mora popraviti ovo stanje političkim rješenjima koja podržavaju rad radnika umjesto bogataša. Naglasio je da će koncentracija bogatstva transformirati Ameriku na zastrašujuće, nepopravljive načine. 

– Nekoliko ljudi imat će ekstremnu količinu moći za oblikovanje ekonomije, politike i medija – rekao je Kolins, dodajući da niko neće željeti živjeti u takvom društvu u kojem će, primjera radi, „Amazon“ preuzeti sav posao malim trgovinama.
