Komandant NATO-a u Sarajevu: Uputio važnu poruku!
Admirala Roberta P. Burkea, komandanta Komande savezničkih snaga u Napulju, dočekali su u kampu Butmir brigadni general Eric Folkestad, komandant NATO Štaba Sarajevo, kao i generalmajor Alexander Platzer, komandant EUFOR-a.
Tokom posjete, admiral Burke je još jednom potvrdio predanost NATO-a suverenitetu i teritorijalnom integritetu stabilne Bosne i Hercegovine, saopćeno je iz NATO Štaba Sarajevo.
Osim razgovora o tekućoj saradnji NATO-a i EUFOR-a i zajedničkim aktivnostima na reformi i modernizaciji bh. odbrambenih i sigurnosnih snaga s brigadnim generalom Ericom Folkestadom i generalmajorom Alexanderom Platzerom, admiral Burke je razgovarao i s američkim ambasadorom u BiH Ericom Nelsonom, generalpukovnikom Senadom Mašovićem, čelnikom Zajedničkog štaba Oružanih snaga Bosne i Hercegovine, generalmajorom Ivicom Jerkićem, zamjenikom načelnika Zajedničkog štaba Oružanih snaga Bosne i Hercegovine za operacije, i generalmajorom Gojkom Kneževićem, zamjenikom načelnika Zajedničkog štaba Oružanih snaga Bosne i Hercegovine za resurse.
– Stabilnost i sigurnost zapadnog Balkana je važna za NATO i za mir i stabilnost u Evropi. NATO štab Sarajevo opredijeljen je za nastavak praktične saradnje s Ministarstvom odbrane i Oružanim snagama Bosne i Hercegovine. NATO također nastavlja podržavati euroatlantska reformska nastojanja na dobrobit svih građana Bosne i Hercegovine – rekao je Burke.
Admiral Burke je na čelu komande u kojoj je zastupljeno 30 zemalja članica NATO-a i koja je odgovorna za planiranje, pripremu i izvođenje vojnih operacija u cijelom području odgovornosti vrhovnog komandanta Savezničkih snaga u Evropi.
Komanda nadgleda tri misije na zapadnom Balkanu: snage na Kosovu (KFOR), NATO štab Sarajevo i NATO vojnu kancelariju za vezu u Beogradu.
– Vojni i civilni zvaničnici NATO-a ovdje blisko sarađuju sa svim segmentima Ministarstva odbrane i Oružanih snaga BiH, mi jedni druge izvrsno poznajemo i nastavit ćemo podržavati vlasti u implementaciji prijekopotrebnih reformi u svim područjima života: unapređenju sigurnosti, jačanju demokratije i većem prosperitetu za sve u BiH – rekao je admiral Burke.
Zajednički rad, dodao je, svima donosi boljitak, čini nas boljim, jačim i spremnijim za suočavanje sa sigurnosnim izazovima današnjice koji se neprekidno mijenjaju i usložnjavaju. U zajedničkom euroatlantskom regionu suočavamo se s istim sigurnosnim izazovima, ‘a dijalog i saradnja su važni kako bismo se njima bavili na efikasan način’, istakao je admiral Burke.
Povodom njegove posjete, brigadni general Folkestad je rekao da bliski odnos njegovog tima s EUFOR-om, pokazan admiralu Burkeu u današnjim diskusijama, kao i tokom redovnih zajedničkih brifinga, naglašava odvojenu, ali komplementarnu prirodu njihovih misija.
– Zajedno stvaramo sigurno i stabilno okruženje i okvir da podržimo reforme koje donose neposredne prednosti pripadnicima i pripadnicama Oružanih snaga BiH, ali i svakom građaninu BiH i regiona – kazao je.
