Korisnici nisu mogli poslati ni primiti poruke preko ove aplikacije, navodno zbog problema na serveru, no, čini se kako se usluga postepeno uspostavlja.
Kvar nije odmah uočen, jer su se razgovori i kontakti mogli učitati. Međutim, prilikom ulaska u razgovor, aplikacija je na displeju pokazivala poruku “povezivanje” koja nije nestajala, tako da korisnici nisu mogli ni poslati ni primiti poruku.
Problem nisu mogli riješiti korisnici, isključivanjem i ponovnim otvaranjem WhatsAppa poruka “povezivanje” se nije prestala pokazivati.
Za razliku od svog vlasnika, kompanije Facebook, i mnogih drugih društvenih mreža, WhatsApp ne održava web stranicu kako bi korisnicima pružio informacije o tome kada dođe do problema. Čini se kako se ovakvi problemi s WhatsAppom dešavaju na mjesečnom nivou, a popravci ponekad traju i po nekoliko sati.
