Kraj proizvodnje Forda Mondeo u fabrici u Valensiji planiran je za mart 2022, a najnoviji prodajni rezultati pokazuju da je američki proizvođač dobro procijenio kretanja na evropskom automobilskom tržištu.
U prvih devet mjeseci 2021. u Evropi je prodato svega 10.427 primjeraka ovog Fordovog modela, dok su u istom periodu isporučena 15.602 električna Mustanga Mach-E.
Osim smanjenog interesovanja kupaca za limuzine srednje klase, ovaj rezultat pokazuje i da se kupci sve više okreću električnim automobilima, a Ford je očigledno dobro rezonovao kada je za svoju udarnu pesnicu na tržištu vozila na struju odabrao jedan SUV/krosover, prenosi B92.
Kada se tome doda da je iskoristio veoma popularno ime iz sopstvenog naslijeđa – Mustang, dobar rezultat modela Mach-E postaje jasniji.
Da su Mondeu odbrojani dani, pokazuje podatak da je od ovog modela traženiji čak i vremešni potkompaktni SUV EcoSport, uprkos pojavi novog vozila Puma iz istog segmenta.
