Na današnji dan 1953. godine u Orahovu u Bosanskoj Gradišci rođen je general 5. korpusa Atif Dudaković.
Nakon završene osnovne škole, Atif je upisao Srednju vojnu školu u Zadru koju završava 1972. godine.
Nakon toga, 1976. završava vojnu akademiju KoV JNA, smjer artiljerija. Do 1991. godine i rata u Hrvatskoj radio je u Artiljerijskom školskom centru u Zadru.
U tom periodu je dostigao čin majora JNA, a obavljao je i funkciju načelnika artiljerije u brigadi u Kninu.
Nakon napuštanja JNA, Atif Dudaković dolazi u Bihać gdje je imenovan za načelnika štaba u OpŠTO Bihać. Već 19. jula 1992, formiranjem 2.muslimansko-hrvatske pješadijske brigade (kasnije 502. viteške brdske brigade), postaje njen prvi komandant.
Na toj dužnosti ostaje do 1. novembra 1993. kada preuzima mjesto komandanta 5.korpusa Armije RBiH.
Na tom položaju ostvaruje najveće uspjehe u svojoj vojničkoj karijeri gdje komandujući jedinicama 5. korpusa oslobađa Veliku Kladušu i slama APZB. Potom jedinice pod njegovom komandom razbijaju 1.krajiški korpus VRS-a i oslobađaju gradove: Bosanski Petrovac, Ključ, Bosansku Krupu.
Zajedno sa snagama Sedmog korpusa Armije RBiH oslobađa Sanski Most.
