Večeras, u noći između subote na nedjelju, počinje zimsko računanje vremena, odnosno kao i svake godine posljednjeg vikenda u oktobru.
Kazaljke na satu potrebno je vratiti za jedan sat unazad, odnosno sa 3 na 2 časa, a time se završava i ljetnje računanje vremena, koje svake godine počinje poslejdnjeg vikenda u martu.
Inače, ljetnje računanje vremena, čije uvođenje se pravdalo uštedom električne energije, na prostorima bivše Jugoslavije, a to znači u BiH, prvi put je uvedeno 27. marta 1983. godine.
“Službeno vrijeme” u svijetu pomjera se unaprijed u kasnu zimu ili rano proljeće, a vraća unazad u jesen, najčešće za jedan sat.
Pomjeranje kazaljki u zapadnoj Evropi uvedeno je početkom 1970-ih godina, uz obrazloženje da se time “produžava” dan, omogućuju uštede u potrošnji električne energije, povećava produktivnost, poboljšava prilagođavanje ljudi i radni dan čini efikasnijim.
Prelazak na ljetnje i zimsko vrijeme prvi put je zabilježeno 1916. godine u zemljama na sjeveru Evrope, a do sada je uvedeno u oko 70 zemalja, uglavnom na sjevernoj hemisferi.
Od 2002. godine Evropska unija, kao i ostale zemlje u Evropi, odredile su da ljetnje vrijeme počinje posljednje nedjelje marta i da se završava posljednje sedmice oktobra.
Pojedini astronomi su, međutim, protiv pomjeranja kazaljki i vještačkog “produženja” dana, jer smatraju da prirodu ne treba “mučiti”, makar se to pravdalo i ekonomskom računicom.
