Obilježen 9. maj – DAN POBJEDE NAD FAŠIZMOM I DAN ZLATNIH LJILJANA
Delegacija Grada Gradačac, predstavnici boračkih organizacija i predstavnici Udruženja antifašista i boraca NOR-a Gradačac povodom Dana pobjede nad fašizmom, Dana Evrope, Dana Zlatnih ljiljana i Dana logoraša BiH, danas su odale počast poginulim u Drugom svjetskom ratu kao i u oslobodilačko odbrambenom ratu 92.-95. Obilježavanje je započelo polaganjem cvijeća i odavanjem počasti na Spomeniku poginulim borcima 1941-45. i na Centralnom spomen obilježju šehidima, poginulim borcima i civilnim žrtvama rata 1992-1995. godine
Na današnji dan , 9.maja 1945. godine Njemačka je potpisala bezuslovnu kapitulaciju u Drugom svjetskom ratu, u kojem je živote izgubilo više od 50 miliona ljudi. Iako je rat zvanično završen tek nekoliko mjeseci kasnije, kapitulacijom carskog Japana, u svim zemljama Evrope 9.maj se obilježava kao Dan pobjede nad fašizmom.
Ovaj datum se obilježava i „Dan Zlatnih ljiljana“, tako ovom prilikom svim dobitnicima najviših ratnih priznanja odajemo priznanje uz izražavanje iskrene zahvalnosti i čestitamo za hrabrost kojom su doprinijeli našoj današnjoj slobodi, miru i ravnopravnosti, i slamanju pojave fašizma na ovim prostorima.
Duboko poštovanje i vječnu zahvalnost dugujemo svim postuhmno odlikovanim herojima i svima onima koji su dali svoje živote okrenuti protiv zla, nepravde i rasizma i utkali ih u odbranu slobode i svojih najmilijih.
Dan Evrope postaje sve značajniji za našu zemlju, obzirom na želju građana približavanju Evropskoj uniji. U tom nastojanju želimo brz napredak i sretniju budućnost građana Grada Gradačac i naše Bosne i Hercegovine koji svojim zalaganjem i znanjem to zaslužuju.
Gradonačelnik Edis Dervišagić je u povodu 9.maja, u ime gradske uprave Gradačac i svoje lično ime svim građanima grada Gradačac, uputio iskrene čestitke.
