Obilježena 28. godišnjica formiranja 107. Viteške motorizovane gradačačke brigade

Danas je u Gradačcu obilježen Dan formiranja 107. viteške gradačačke brigade. Tačno prije 28 godina donešena je strateška odluka kada je Ratno predsjedništvo opštine Gradačac preimenovalo Opštinski štab teritorijalne odbrane Gradačac u 107. brigadu HVO ( MHVO ) Gradačac. Zahvaljujući herojskoj odbrani Gradačca i Bosne i Hercegovine 15. aprila 1993. godine Predsjedništvo RBiH  proglasilo je i odlikovalo 107. gradačačku brigadu prvom viteškom brigadom.

Prisutnima su se obratili predsjednik Saveza boračkih organizacija Gradačac, Munever Beširović, koji je uputio riječi dobrodošlice i zahvalio se prisutnima što su se odazvali na ovakav značajan datum u historiji Gradačca ali i cijele odbrane Bosne i Hercegovine.

Ratni načelnik štaba 107. viteške motorizovane brigade i ratni komadant 213. vtmbr. Major Sadan Imamović podsjetio je kroz prigodan referat ratni put branilaca Gradačca i Bosne i Hercegovine.

Gradonačelnik Edis Dervišagić je istakao da danas Gradačac slavi svoje heroje. Na današnji dan osnovana je 107. viteška motorizovana brigada Gradačac koja je po mnogo čemu jedinstvena u Armiji Republike Bosne i Hercegovine. Jedinstvena je po dužini linije odbrane, po broju pripadnika te brigade, po slavnim i herojskim bitkama i po tome što je prva u Armiji Republike Bosne i Hercegovine ponijela naziv Viteška brigada. „Danas svi mi ovdje moramo i jesmo svjesni da pripadnici ove brigade, posebno oni koji su dali svoje živote, ostavili u amanet da budućim generacijama prenesemo istinu o odbrani Gradačca i istinu o odbrani Bosne i Hercegovine, da se upamti, da se ne zaboravi i da se ne ponovi nikome. To je jedina garancija razvoja Gradačca i napretka Bosne i Hercegovine i naravno suživota. Ovom prilikom svim pripadnicima 107. viteške motorizovane brigade Gradačac upućujem iskrene čestitke“.

Brojne delegacije položile su cvijeće i odale počast na Centralnom spomen obilježju šehidima, poginulim borcima i civilnim žrtvama odbrambeno-oslobodilačkog rata 1992-1995., centralnom vojnom mezarju u Mahmut mahali, Križu u Ledenicama Donjim i na grobu prvog Komadanta Ivana Mijačevića.
