Ozloglašeni trgovac drogom uhapšen u Kolumbiji
Bezbjednosne snage u Kolumbiji uhapsile su jednog od najvećih trgovaca drogom u zemlji, koji je više od deceniju uspješno izbjegavao hapšenje podmićivanjem državnih zvaničnika i saradnjom sa borcima i ljevice i desnice, prenosi agencija AP.BOGOTA —
Kolumbijski predsjednik Ivan Duke uporedio je hapšenje Daira Antonia Usuge sa privođenjem Pabla Eskobara prije tri decenije.
Usuga, poznat po nadimku Otoniel, navodni je lider Zalivskog klana (Gulf Clan), čija je vojska ubica terorisala veći dio sjeverne Kolumbije da bi preuzela kontrolu nad rutama za krijumčarenje kokaina, kroz džungle do Centralne Amerike i Sjedinjenih Država.
Dugo se nalazio na spisku najtraženijih begunaca američke Uprave za borbu protiv narkotika (DEA) koja je nudila nagradu od 5 miliona dolara za njegovo hapšenje.
Prvi put je optužen 2009. godine, u federalnom sudu u Njujorku, po optužbama za trgovinu drogom i navodno pružanje pomoći jednoj ekstremno-desničarskoj paravojnoj grupi koju je američka vlada označila terorističkom organizacijom.
Protiv Usuge su kasnije podignute optužnice u federalnim sudovima u Bruklinu i Majamiju za krijumčarenje najmanje 73 tone kokaina između 2003. i 2014. godine kroz zemlje kao što su Venecuela, Gvatemala, Meksiko, Panama i Honduras.
Takođe je bio u više gerilskih grupa, a nedavno je tvrdio da je lider Samoodbrambenih snaga Kolumbije.
Vlasti su saopštile da su obavještajni podaci, koje su proslijedile Sjedinjene Države i Britanija, doveli više od 500 vojnika i pripadnika kolumbijskih specijalnih snaga do Usuginog dobro obezbjeđenog skrovišta u džungli.
Usuga je bio pripadnih ljevičarskih, a zatim i desničarskih gerilskih snaga. Odbio je da se razoruža kada su gerilci potpisali mirovni sporazum sa vladom 2006. godine, a zatim je postao dio kolumbijskog podzemlja i pokrenuo operacije u stratetškom regionu Zaliv Urabe u severnoj Kolumbiji, gdje se nalazi jedna od glavnih ruta za trgovinu drogom.
