Recep Tayyip Erdogan otvorio obnovljenu Baščaršijsku džamiju
Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan na otvaranju obnovljene Baščaršijske džamije u Sarajevu poručio je da je veoma sretan da prisustvuje otvaranju takvog objekta.”Džamija je simbol zajedništva muslimana”, kazao je turski predsjednik, rekavši da se radi o centru znanja i kulture.
On je podsjetio na dugu historiju ove džamije koja datira iz osmanskog perioda. Kazao je da su radovi na restauraciji počeli prije šest godina, uz pomoć Generalne direkcije vakufa Republike Turske.
Dodao je da su radovi okončani prošle godine, ali da je svačnost lani odgođena zbog pandemije koronavirusa.
Reisu-l-ulema Islamske zajednice (IZ) u BiH Husein-ef. Kavazović kazao je da ova džamija nije najveća u Sarajevu, ali jeste jedna od najstarijih u Šeheru, u srcu Baščaršije. Ona je, zajedno s Begovom i Carevom džamijom, dio graditeljskog identiteta Starog grada i simbol identiteta muslimana u BiH.
“Ovo su trenuci u kojima treba da se prisjetimo plemenitog vakifa Havadže Duraka, koji ju je sagradio davne 1528. godine. Od tada je ova džamija, zajedno s drugima, bila okosnica razvoja Baščaršije, jer su se oko nje podizali dućani i zanatske radnje. Historija nam govori da je džamija stradala u ratovima i da je izgorila u požaru 1697. godine, kada je austrijski vojvoda Eugen Savojski zapalio Sarajevo. Kasnije, s vremena na vrijeme, ona je obnavljana. Posljednja njena obnova bila je nakon Drugog svjetskog rata”, kazao je reis Kavazović.
Ova temeljita rekonstrukcija započeta je 2017. godine i jedna je od najznačajnijih do sada. Kavazović je iskoristio priliku da zahvali Generalnoj direkciji vakufa Republike Turske i njenom direktoru Burhanu Ersoyu i Vakufskoj direkciji Islamske zajednice u BiH na izuzetnom zalaganju i naporu da se ovaj dragulj Sarajeva obnovi i preda muslimanima u BiH.
Nakon otvorenja džamije Erdogan se sa Baščaršije udaljio automobilom. Naredna aktivnost koja je planirana je šerijatsko vjenčanje Jasmine Izetbegović u Gazi Husrev-begovoj džamiji, gdje će Erdogan biti kum.
