Rusija izbačena sa Svjetskog prvenstva
FIFA i UEFA donijele su odluku o suspenziji svih ruskih klubova i ruske reprezentacije iz svih natjecanja do daljnjeg zbog ruske invazije na Ukrajinu.
“Odluku su donijela najviša tijela FIFA-e i UEFA-e. Nogomet je ujedinjen u ovoj situaciji. Uz ljude smo u Ukrajini koji su pogođeni ovom situacijom. Nadamo se da će se situacija u Ukrajini popraviti i da će nogomet ponovo biti pokazatelj mira i jedinstva među ljudima”, stoji u priopćenju. UEFA je objavila i da raskida ugovor s ruskom naftnom kompanijom Gazpromom.
Rusi bez Svjetskog prvenstva, Ruskinje bez Europskog
Ova odluka FIFA-e i UEFA-e znači da reprezentacija Rusije neće igrati play-off za Svjetsko prvenstvo, da ženska reprezentacija neće sudjelovati na Europskom prvenstvu te da će moskovski Spartak, jedini ruski klub koji je ostao u europskim natjecanjima, biti izbačen iz osmine finala Europa lige.
Ranije su se Poljska, Švedska i Češka pobunile i objavile da neće ni u kojem slučaju igrati protiv Rusije u play-offu za Svjetsko prvenstvo. Rusija je trebala biti domaćin Poljskoj 24. ožujka, a pet dana kasnije pobjednik tog susreta trebao je igrati s pobjednikom susreta Švedska – Češka.
Ruski klubovi su izbačeni i iz košarkaške Eurolige, a Rusija je ostala i bez Formule 1, skijaških utrka, domaćinstva Lige prvaka…
