Tragom informacije da je naš Sanjin Avdičević, koji trenutno živi u Kanadi, a inače rođen u Gradačcu, dobio specijalno priznanje od Bonnie Crombie, gradonačelnice Mississauge (grad pored Toronta, Kanada), stupili smo u kontakt sa Sanjinom, i sa zadovoljstvom vam donosimo njegovu nesvakidašnju priču.
Sa roditeljima i bratom doselio sam u Kanadu 1995. godine. Nova zamlja, novi jezik, novo društvo, škola, fakultet, nove životne navike i norme, sve izazov za izazovom… Znate kako to već ide, svi smo manje više prošli taj put, ali posustajanja nema – trud, upornost i ljubav se kad tad isplate. Tako je bilo i u mom slučju i kolekcija mojih fotografija grada Mississauga bila je nedavno korištena od strane gradonačelnice Mississauge, Bonnie Crombie, a u povodu godišnjeg skupa “Mississauga Board of Trade”.
Sanjin se inače profesionalno bavi programiranjem i radi u jednoj velikoj kanadskoj kompaniji, a na pitanje otkuda ljubav za fotografijom, on odgovara: Fotografijom, kao hobijem, se bavim nekih 15tak godina. Oduvijek me je ponajviše interesovala dokumentarna fotografija i urbani motiv, međutim nerijetko se na mojim fotografijama nađu i neki drugi, uglavnom lokalni motivi. Pošto nemam puno vremena ni uslova za neka daleka putovanja i obilazak popularnih destinacija – planina, kanjona, rijeka itd., ja sam se posvetio pronalaženju ljepote u svakodnevici, u lokalnim gradovima, nacionalnim parkovima i prirodnim rezervatima. Inače inspiraciju najviše crpim iz foto stvaralaštva William Egglestona, Stephena Shorea, Aleca Sotha, Elliota Erwitta, Diane Arbus, ali i mnogi drugi.
Obično je radni dan jednog mladog porodičnog čovjeka prilično dinamičan i ispunjen, međutim Sanjin kaže “kad se nešto voli uvijek se nađe vremena za to”, i dodaje: Skoro da nema dana kada fotoaparat nije uz mene, bilo gdje da idem. Nebitno da li idem u prodavnicu da kupim namirnice ili u grad nekim drugim povodom. Uvijek može da se ukaže neponovljiva prilika za interesantnom fotografijom. Vrlo često i najobičnija, svakodnevna okruženja mogu da postanu interesantna. Sunce, kiša, snijeg, ulična svjetla, sjene, mogu da postanu interesantni ako se nađete u pravom momentu na pravom mjestu. Iz tog razloga fotoaparat je uvijek uz mene.
Na pitanje zašto baš dokumentarna fotografija, Sanjin objašnjava: Prije izvjesnog vremena odlučio sam da počnem dokumentovati grad u kojem živim, Mississaugu. Mississauga je meni zanimljiva zato što je to grad u nastanku dok živimo u njemu. To je veoma mlad grad i konstantno se mijenja. Iz godine u godinu naselja se mijenjaju, ruše se i renoviraju kompletni dijelovi grada. Iako sada ne izgleda tako, ali recimo područje oko Square One šoping centra malim koracima sve više i više liči na centar grada. Za desetak godina čitavo to područje će da bude neprepoznatljivo. Stoga želim da moje fotografije svjedoče jednom vremenu – nastanku i rastu jednog grada.
I dodaje: Stoga fotografišem dijelove grada i područja koja su najviše zahvaćena tim promjenama. Bez ikakvih planova i specijalnih priprema fotografišem zgrade, ulice, drveće i parkove… bukvlno sve. Mislim da će vrijednost mojih fotografija biti ogromna u vremenu koje tek dolazi.
I tako dolazimo do povoda ovom razgovoru – otkuda u svemu tome gradonačelnica Mississauge Bonnie Crombie?
Fotografije obično postavljam po društvenim mrežama kao što su Reddit, Twitter, Flickr i Facebook, i jednom prilikom kada sam fotografisao vatromet za Dan Kanade, na Twitteru sam počeo dobivati “lajkove” od službenog naloga grada Mississauga. Naravno, bilo mi je drago ali nisam puno pridavao pažnju tome, jer sam pretpostavljao da je to samo jedan od administratora tog naloga. Nakon toga, počeli su da prate moj rad i moje fotografije i u nekoliko navrata su dijelili moje Twitter objave. Ubrzo nakon toga počeo sam dobivati “lajkove” i komentare od službenog naloga gradonačelnice grada Mississauga, Bonnie Crombie. To mi je dalo još više motivacije, ali i dalje sam bio uvjeren da je to samo neko od njenih pomoćnika i administratora, sve dok nisam dobio direktno poruku putem Twittera direktno od gradonačelnice Bonnie Crombie – rekla je kako se njoj
sviđaju moje fotografije i da će me neko iz njenog ureda kontaktirati u vezi toga.
I da li te je neko kontaktirao?
Naravno. Bio sam uzbuđen, jer ne dobiva se poruka od gradonačelnice tek tako, a moram priznati da sam bio malo i u nevjerici. Međutim, nedugo poslije toga sam dobio poziv iz ureda gradonačelnice gdje su me pitali za dozvolu da koriste moje fotografije prilikom godišnjeg skupa “Mississauga Board of Trade”. Naravno da sam im dozvolio i tako se oko 20tak mojih fotografija grada našlo u centru pažnje i pokazivalo na velikom ekranu, ispred 600 gostiju u velikoj sali Mississauga Convention Center. To je ujedno bila i prilika da se lično upoznam sa gradonačelnicom Crombie, što je za mene bilo jedno veliko priznanje. Bilo mi je osobito drago da je moj rad napokon prepoznat (i priznat) i bio sam počašćen učestvovanjem na tako jednom velikom i važnom skupu – događaju.
Dakle, Sanjinova dugogodišnja ljubav prema fotografiji, volja, upornost i trud su se isplatili, tako da ured gradonačelnice Mississauge Bonnie Crombie krasi šest njegovih fotografija u velikom formata.
I na kraju Sanjinova poruka svim zaljubljenicima u fotografiju (i ne samo fotografiju): Slobodno sanjajte, slijedite srce, volite ono što radite, budite intuitivni, kreativni, uporni i neumorni, i rezultati će doći prije ili poslije.
Sudeći po ovoj priči Sanjin je uspio da pretvori hobi u ljubav, da radi ono što voli i što mu pričinjava zadovoljstvo, što baš i nije tako jednostavno. Znajući da je Sanjin i sretan porodični čovjek, ovdje živi sa suprugom Selmom i kćerkama Ennom i Leylom, moglo bi se reći da svi zajedno žive svoj kanadski (američki) san.
