Senzacija na startu EP: Zmajice razbile šestu reprezentaciju svijeta
Ženska košarkaška reprezentacija Bosne i Hercegovine na fenomenalan način počela je Evropsko prvenstvo, na kojem naše dame igraju prvi put nakon 22 godine.
Zmajice su u prvom kolu grupe C u Strasbourgu nadigrale Belgiju rezultatom 70:55 (19:11, 11:17, 21:19, 19:8)
Belgijanke su bile apsolutni favorit u ovom dvoboju, jer se radi o timu koji je šesti na FIBA-inoj listi najboljih svjetskih selekcija. Zmajice su na 34. mjestu.
To bh. dame nije previše zanimalo, jer Zmajice su imale prednost od samog starta meča.
Ipak, Belgija je držala priključak do samog finiša susreta, kada Zmajice postižu tri vezane trojke i odlaze na plus devet (62:53). Dva puta je precizna bila Babić, a jednom Delić. To su bili momenti koji su prelomili duel.
Nikolina Babić je ubacila 23 poena, uz šut iz igre devet od deset. Jonquel Jones je postigla 13 poena, uz 17 skokova.
Pored ekipa BiH i Belgije u Grupi C još će igrati selekcije Slovenije i Turske.
U drugom susretu na EP košarkašice BiH 18. juna sastaju se s Turskom (12 sati), a 20. juna igraju protiv Slovenije (12).
Plasman u drugi krug osigurat će tri prvoplasirane ekipe u grupi. Četiri pobjednika grupa plasirat će se direktno u četvrtfinale.
Selekcije koje budu na drugoj i trećoj poziciji u grupi razigravat će za četvrtfinale i to 21. juna. Četvrtfinale će se igrati 23. juna.
