U Indoneziji je pomračenje bilo najjasnije u regiji Siak, u provinciji Riau, a obuhvatalo je 97 posto Sunca. U Siaku se tzv. vatreni prsten mogao posmatrati pune četiri minute.
U Pakistanu je ovo bilo prvo prstenasto pomračenje Sunca nakon pune dvije decenije. Pomračenje je počelo u 07,30 sati, a zbog guste magle nije se moglo jasno posmatrati.
Stanovnici južnih dijelova Kine također su mogli posmatrati pomračenje Sunca.
Pomračenje Sunca je fenomen koji se dešava kada Mjesec prođe ispred Sunca, tako da Sunce ostaje potpuno ili djelomično skriveno za posmatrače na Zemlji.
