Švedska neočekivano lako protiv Hrvatske, najviše se raduje Srbija
Rukometna reprezentacija Švedske, potpuno neočekivano, razbila je Hrvatsku u duelu posljednjeg kola grupne faze Evropskog prvenstva i tako ‘poslala’ u drugi krug selekciju Srbije. Konačan rezultat bio je 35:31 za Šveđane.
Grupa A:
Švedi su već od prvog minuta bili bolji rival na parketu, a vodstvo su suvereno čuvali od rezultata 5:4, pa sve do posljednjeg minuta.
Na poluvrijeme su Hrvati otišli sa pet poena deficita, a dobrom igrom Šveđani su povećali svoju prednost čak na devet poena u nekoliko navrata. Ipak, do kraja Kauboji smanjuju rezultat, no do preokreta nisu mogli.
Nielsen i Jeppsson su postigli po pet golova za Švedsku, dok je Čupić postigao šest za Kauboje i bio najefikasniji na terenu. Ova pobjeda najviše je obradovala Srbiju koja je čekala ishod meča i navijala za pobjedu Švedske ili remi.
Grupa B:
U grupi B Norveška je opravdala ulogu velikog favorita i bez većih problema slavila protiv Austrije rezultatom 39:28.
Norveška je vodila od samog starta igre, te pokazala klasu više u odnosu na današnjeg protivnika koji je grupnu fazu okončao kao posljednji, bez osvojenog boda. S druge strane, Norveška je druga, sa dvije pobjede i jednim porazom od Francuske.
