Predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Donald Tramp (Trump) rekao je kako je administraciji Bijele kuće naredio da zaustavi finansiranje Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije.
– Danas sam naredio administraciji da zaustavi finansiranje Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije – kazao je Tramp na konferenciji za medije.
Istaknuo je da je stopirao davanje novca za tu organizaciju, naglasivši kako to mora prihvatiti odgovorno, jer je, prema njegovom mišljenju, loše reagirala na pandemiju koronavirusa.
Tramp je prethodno kritizirao šefa WHO-a Tedrosa Adhanoma Gebrejesusa (Ghebreyesus), navodeći da je WHO suviše “orijentiran prema Kini” i da će zato suspendirati finansijska sredstva koja Vašington izdvaja za ovu organizaciju.
Odgovarajući Trampu, Gebrejesus je tada pozvao na jedinstvo i upozorio da ne treba politizirati krizu.
– Nema potrebe da se koronavirus koristi za političke udarce. Nema potrebe. Ima mnogo drugih načina da se dokažete – rekao je Gebrejesusa reagirajući na Trampove optužbe.
Pokretanje privrede
Govoreći o ponovnom pokretanju američke ekonomije, Tramp je kazao kako je blizu završetka plana o pokretanju privrednih aktivnosti, dodavši kako bi neke savezne države mogle biti spremne i prije 1. maja na temelju niske stope zaraze.
Tramp želi pokrenuti ekonomiju što je prije moguće nakon što je, usljed zaraze koronavirusom, umrlo 22.000 Amerikanaca, a nekoliko miliona je ostalo bez posla.
Trampova radna grupa za koronavirus preporučila je ljudima širom zemlje da se do kraja aprila pridržavaju strogih smjernica o socijalnoj distanci. Otvaranje nekih država prije toga bilo bi u suprotnosti sa smjernicama u njihovom trenutnom obliku.
– Mislimo da će se neki guverneri naći u stvarno dobroj situaciji da pokrenu privredne aktivnosti prije kraja aprila – rekao je Tramp.
Traži brojnija testiranja
Tramp je rekao da bi države trebale koristiti bilo koji režim testiranja kako bi testiranja postala brojnija, predloživši i testiranje koronavirusa na državnim granicama, ali nije ponudio detalje o tome kako će to funkcionirati.
Predsjednik SAD bori se protiv optužbi da je sporo odgovorio na pandemiju, a podrška javnosti koju je imao u vođenju krize je opala.
Sjedinjene Države imaju najveći broj zaraženih i preminulih od posljedica koronavirusa. Prema najnovijim podacima, SAD imaju više od 611.000 oboljelih i 25.924 preminulih.
