Turska će prema planu aktivirati odbrambeni raketni sistem S-400 nabavljen od Rusije, nakon što vojno osoblje završi odgovarajuću obuku, kazao je u četvrtak turski ministar odbrane Hulusi Akar, prenosi Anadolu Agency (AA).
Obuka za rad na opremi stigla je do faze u kojoj se osoblje upoznaje sa hardwareom raketnog sistema, pojasnio je Akar poslanicima u Odboru za planiranje i budžet Parlamenta Turske i dodao:
“Nakon što ovaj proces bude završen, provešćemo naše planirane aktivnosti.“
Sporazum koji su Turska i Rusija postigle o kupoprodaji antiraketnih sistema S-400 izazvao je oštre kritike iz Sjedinjenih Američkih Država (SAD), što je dovelo do tenzija u američko-turskim odnosima. Zvanični Washington tvrdi da će nabavka sistema S-400 ugroziti tursku poziciju u projektu vojnih aviona F-35.
Turska tvrdi da sisteme S-400 neće inkorporirati u sisteme NATO-a i da ni na koji način neće ugroziti saveznike. Zvanična Ankara je pozvala na formiranje zajedničke stručne komisije sa zadatkom da se utvrdi da li pitanje S-400 izaziva tehničke probleme.
Odgovarajući na pitanja o sirijskim snagama koje Turska podržava u borbi protiv terorista YPG/PKK na sjeveru Sirije, Akar je rekao da Sirijska nacionalna armija (SNA) nije dio “niti jedne grupe“ već da se radi o ljudima koji su lojalni i koji rade za svoju zemlju.
“Kao rezultat naših operacija, zabluda u formiranju terorističkog koridora, terorističke države, na sjeveru Sirije, je zaustavljena“, naglasio je Akar.
Turska je 9. oktobra pokrenula operaciju “Izvor mira“ čiji je cilj uklanjanje terorista YPG/PKK sa sjevera Sirije, istočno od rijeke Eufrat kako bi se osigurale granice Turske, pomogao siguran povratak sirijskih izbjeglica i osigurao teritorijalni integritet Sirije.
Ankara je prošlog mjeseca postigla dva odvojena sporazuma sa Washingtonom i Moskvom, na osnovu kojih je pristala obustaviti operaciju kako bi se teroristima YPG/PKK-a omogućilo da se povuku iz planirane sigurne zone, gdje Turska želi vratiti milione sirijskih izbjeglica.
