Turska protjeruje 10 zapadnih diplomata

Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan saopštio je da je naložio Ministarstvu spoljnih poslova da deset ambasadora zapadnih zemalja proglasi za “persona non grata”, zbog poziva na oslobađanje filantropa Osmana Kavale. 

Kavala je u zatvoru već četiri godine, optužen za finansiranje nacionalnih protesta 2013. godine i umiješanosti u neuspješni puč 2016. On poriče te optužbe.

U zajedničkom saopštenju 18. oktobra, ambasadori Kanade, Danske, Francuske, Njemačke, Holandije, Norveške, Švedske, Finske, Novog Zelanda i SAD pozvale su na pravedno i brzo razrješenje slučaja Osmana Kavale i njegovo “hitno puštanje na slobodu”. Ministarstvo spoljnih poslova ih je pozvalo na razgovor, nazivajući njihovo saopštenje neodgovornim.

“Dao sam neophodan nalog našem ministru spoljnih poslova i rekao šta mora da se uradi – tih deset ambasadora mora da odmah bude proglašeno za nepoželjne osobe”, rekao je Erdogan u govoru u gradu Eskisehir u sjeverozapadnoj Turskoj.

“Oni treba da poznaju i razumiju Tursku. Na dan kada ne budu poznavali i razumjeli Tursku, moraće da odu”, rekao je uz povike odobravanja iz mase.

Američka, njemačka i francuska ambasada, kao i Bijela kuća i State Department nisu odmah komentarisali odluku Turske.

Kavala je prošle godine oslobođen optužbi koje se odnose na proteste 2013, ali je presuda ove godine preinačena a optužnica spojena sa optužbama za drugi slučaj u vezi sa pokušajem puča u Turskoj. Grupe za ljudska prava navode da je slučaj karakterističan primer Erdoganovog gušenja opozicije.

Kavala je u petak izjavio da bi bilo “besmisleno” da prisustvuje svom suđenju, budući da je pravedno suđenje nemoguće, imajući u vidu nedavne komentare turskog predsjednika.

Erdogan je u četvrtak, prema izvještajima, izjavio da ambasadori koji su potpisali saopštenje ne bi oslobađali “bandite, ubice i teroriste” u svojim zemljama.
