Večeras s akšam-namazom nastupa ramazan, sveti mjesec muslimana
Prema kalendaru Rijaseta Islamske zajednice u Bosni i Hercegovini, večeras s akšam-namazom nastupa ramazan, najodabraniji mjesec muslimana.
To je mjesec posta, milosti i oprosta, mjesec Kur'ana.
U džamijama će se klanjati i prvi teravih-namaz.
Prvi dan posta nastupa sutra, 6. maja.
Punoljetni i zdravi muslimani i muslimanke od zore do zalaska sunca poste od jela i pića, dok vjernici tokom cijelog ramazana nastoje činiti što više plemenitih dijela, nastojeći na taj način steći Božje zadovoljstvo i moralno pročišćenje.
Osim moralne dimenzije post ima ulogu i sa zdravstvenog aspekta, jer uskraćivanjem hrane vjernici pomažu tijelu da se očisti.
Prvi dan ramazana muslimani u Bosni i Hercegovini poste od 3 sata i 26 minuta ujutro do 20 sati i jedne minute predvečer, što je skoro 17 sati bez hrane i vode. Kako ramazanski dani budu prolazili, vrijeme posta će se produžavati, pa će zadnji dan ramazana vjernici postiti od 2 sata i 36 minuta ujutro do 20 sati i 28 minuta predvečer.
Tokom ramazana vjernici prave iftare (večere), na koje pozivaju rodbinu i prijatelje kako bi zajedno prekinuli post za taj dan.
Bajram-namaz je 4. juna, predstavlja prekid mjeseca ramazana i posta, i jedan je od dva najveća muslimanska praznika.
