Više opcija za pojačani američki angažman u regiji: Bajden sprema specijalnog izaslanika za Balkan?

Novoizabrani američki predsjednik Džo Bajden (Joe Biden) kreće u formiranje tranzicijskog tima koji će postaviti temelje za prve aktivnosti, uključujući i one najvažnije vanjskopolitičke inicijative.
Kako saznaje „Dnevni avaz“ iz dobro upućenih diplomatskih izvora, pitanje odnosa s Evropskom unijom i Balkanom bit će jedna od najvažnijih tačaka vanjske politike.
Stanje u regiji
Prema nezvaničnim informacijama, Bajden razmatra mogućnost da imenuje specijalnog izaslanika Bijele kuće za zapadni Balkan te da tu funkciju preuzme utjecajni diplomata s veoma dobrim poznavanjem situacije u regiji.
Očekuje se da će Bajden, nakon što izabere i novog državnog sekretara koji će zamijeniti Majka Pompea (Mike), zatražiti da se posebna pažnja posveti Balkanu, pri čemu Bosna i Hercegovina ima značajno mjesto.
Odranije postoje planovi koji su velikim dijelom vezani za dugogodišnju američku politiku u ovom dijelu svijeta, da se već na proljeće pokrene inicijativa kojom bi se deblokirao, ali suštinski deblokirao put BiH ka članstvu u Evropskoj uniji i NATO-u tako što bi se formirala vlast sklona reformama i na bazi tog programa okupili lideri koji imaju proevropski integritet i karakter.
– Dolazak Bajdena u Bijelu kuću bit će snažan impuls ljudima koji danonoćno rade na pripremi diplomatskih aktivnosti u ovom dijelu svijeta. Ključni zaokret Srbije ka Briselu, a dalje od Moskve, koji je uradila odlazeća administracija će biti osnova na kojoj će se i ostatak regije gurnuti snažnije ka evropskim integracijama – navodi naš izvor.

Bajden će, kako se očekuje, najveći posao prepustiti Stejt departmentu, ali i, kako se očekuje, specijalnom izaslaniku koji će dati ključni impuls novoj američkoj inicijativi koja će za cilj imati konačnu integraciju zapadnog Balkana u NATO i Evropu, što može imati dalekosežne geopolitičke poruke, posebno u periodu jačanja regionalnih sila i širenja ruskih ambicija.
Bliska saradnja s EU
Odlazeća američka administracija ima specijalnog izaslanika Stejt departmenta za Balkan Metjua Palmera (Mathew), čiji je rad u regiji izuzetno cijenjen i poštovan.
No, mnogi smatraju da će Bajden tim naporima pridodati posebnog izaslanika predsjednika SAD, čime bi se ta funkcija pojačala.
Također, Bajden će aktivnosti u regiji blisko koordinirati s Evropskom unijom, što će značiti i brže ispunjavanje uvjeta za članstvo.
