Ukrajinski predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski pozvao je u srijedu Židove diljem svijeta da podignu svoj glas nakon što je ruski projektil pogodio televizijski toranj u Kijevu. Taj je objekt, naime, izgrađen na mjestu velikog masakra nad Židovima tijekom Holokausta.
– Obraćam se svim Židovima svijeta. Zar ne vidite što se događa? Zato je jako važno da milijuni Židova diljem svijeta ne ostanu tihi u ovom trenutku. Nacizam je rođen u tišini. Stoga, vičite, vičite o ubijanjima civila, vičite o ubojstvu Ukrajinaca – rekao je Zelenski, a prenosi Times of Israel.
Ukrajina se suočava sa sedmim danom ruske invazije, a borbe se vode u brojnim gradovima, dok konvoj ruskih vojnih vozila i dalje napreduje prema glavnom gradu Kijevu koji je izložen višednevnom granatiranju i zračnim napadima.
Zelenski je u svom obraćanju u srijedu rekao i da je ruski cilj izbisati Ukrajince, njhovu zemlju i njihovu povijest. Raketirani toranj sagrđan je na lokaciji Babin Jar. Na tom je mjestu u Drugom svjetskom ratu došlo do najvećeg masakra kijevskih Židova, te je i danas mjesto odavanja počasti žrtvama.
U napadu na toranj poginulo je pet osoba. Zelenski smatra kako je napad na toranj u srž simbolički, jer je udareno na dio nacionalnog identiteta. Izgrađen je tijekom sovjetske ere.
– Takav napad pokazuje da je za mnoge u Rusiji Kijev potpuna nepoznanica. Ne znaju ništa o našoj metropoli, o našoj povijesti, ali imaju naredbu uništiti našu povijest, uništiti našu zemlju i sve nas izbrisati – rekao je Zelenski, piše NDTV.
Ukrajinski predsjednik rekao je u srijedu da je ubijeno skoro 6000 Rusa u prvih šest dana moskovske invazije i da Kremlj neće moći zauzeti njegovu zemlju bombardiranjem i zračnim napadima.
