Žestoke osude Palmerove izjave: Negiranje genocida nije sloboda govora!
Burnu raspravu na društvenim mrežama izazvale su izjave izaslanika SAD-a za izbornu reformu Matthewa Palmera koji je pojašnjavao problem negiranja genocida u Bosni i Hercegovini, a vezano za Inzkov zakon koji je poslužio kao izgovor članu Predsjedništva BiH Miloradu Dodiku da blokira državne institucije i krene u ostvarivanje svojih secesionističkih planova.
Palmer je kazao da su “negiranje genocida, glorificiranje ratnih zločinaca trikovi koji politčari koriste da skrenu pažnju javnosti sa bitnih stvari”.
– A ono što je stvarno bitno je da se osigura dobra vlast koja će pomoći Bosni i Hercegovini da ide naprijed. Negiranje genocida je strašna stvar, to je ono što uništava povjerenje, potkopava osjećaj solidarnosti među građanstvom BiH. Sjedinjene Države imaju drugačiju pravnu tradiciju od Evrope, prava iz Prvog amandaman su duboko usađena u našu političku kulturu. Proglašavanje neke vrste govora nezakonitom, to nije instrument koji je nama dostupan niti bismo mi to vidjeli kao instrument koji je posebno vrijedan strateški gledano. Evropska tradicija je drugačija. Protuotrov za govor mrženje, za negiranje genocida ili glorificiranje ratnih zločinaca nije to proglašavati nezakonitim, već govoriti istinu, govor koji promovira pomirenje, zajedničku budućnost – poručio je Palmer.
Jedan tviteraš je uz video Palmerove izjave ostavio komentar: “Eto, Jevreji – nije bilo holokausta, kaže vam Palmer, i nemojte se ljutiti”.
Drugi su napisali: “Ovo je strašno. Ovim bi Palmer morao zatvoriti sebi vrata da učestvuje u bilo kakvom rješavanju situacije u BiH. Negiranje genocida nije sloboda govora!”; “Znači ne treba zabraniti negiranje genocida, nego u inat negatorima ići po mirovnim kampovima i pričati fine stvari”.
