Atalanta je poražena kod Manchester Uniteda u dvoboju 3. kola skupine F Lige prvaka s 2-3.
Takav kraj se i nije mogao naslutiti nakon prvog poluvremena jer su Talijani vodili 2-0. U 15. minuti Pašalić se našao na pravom mjestu te je iz blizine svladao domaćeg vratara De Geu za 1-0. Atalanta je cijelo prvo poluvrijeme odigrala odlično, bila je kontinuirano opasna, a u 29. minuti je povećala na 2-0 golom Demirala.
No, baš sve na travnjaku se promijenilo u drugom poluvremenu, točnije od 53. minute kada je Rashford smanjio na 1-2. U valovima je Manchester United napadao. Atalantu su spašavali okvir vrata i vratar Musso, no do kraja nije izdržala. Prvo je Maguire izjednačio u 75. minuti, a u 81. se ukazao Cristiano Ronaldo i zabio za potpuni preokret.
U skupini H aktualni pobjednik Lige prvaka Chelsea vrlo lako je kao domaćin slomio švedski Malmö te je pobijedio 4-0. Po dva pogotka Chelsea je postigao u oba poluvremena. Dva puta je s bijele točke bio miran Jorginho, a još su po pogodak dodali Christensen i Havertz. BiH reprezentativac Adi Nalić je igrao od 58. minute.
U skupini G je ranije Red Bull Salzburg svladao Wolfsburg 3-1, dok su Lille i Sevilla odigrali bez pobjednika, ali i bez golova.
U skupini E Bayern je zadržao stopostotni učinak. Nakon Barcelone i kijevskog Dinama Bavarci su ovaj put slavili na Luzu u Lisabonu gdje su pobijedili Benficu 4-0. Sve do 70. minute mreže s mirovale, a tada je domaću zatresao Sane. Tada je počelo puštati sa svih strana u domaćoj obrani pa su još zabili Everton (autogol), Lewandowski i ponovno Sane.
