Ambasada SAD u Srbiji ocijenila je za Glas Amerike da “Ratko Mladić ne treba da bude lice koje Beograd pokazuje svijetu”, povodom incidenata i hapšenja aktivistkinja koje su u utorak jajima gađale mural sa likom haškog osuđenika Ratka Mladića.
“SAD i Srbija su posvećene osnovnim vrijednostima, uključujući toleranciju, ljudska prava i vladavinu prava. Ponekad je izazovno pomiriti se sa teškim trenucima iz prošlosti – i za SAD, i za Srbiju – ali nema ničeg časnog u zaštiti memorijala ratnog zločinca osuđenog za genocid i zločine protiv čovječnosti. Nadamo se da će se Srbija fokusirati na svjetliju, inkluzivniju budućnost, prije nego da iznova prolazi kroz bol, mrak i podjele iz devedesetih godina”, navodi se u pisanom odgovoru portparola ambasade SAD.
