Blinken: Zapad traži alternative ako Rusija blokira misiju u BiH
Zapadne sile traže alternative kako bi osigurale međunarodne snage u Bosni i Hercegovini ako Rusija blokira obnovu mirovne misije koju podržava UN, izjavio je u utorak državni sekretar SAD-a Antony Blinken.
Rusija, saveznica Srba u BiH i članica Vijeća sigurnosti koja ima pravo veta, kritična je prema naporima UN-a u toj balkanskoj zemlji, ali je u novembru pristala na jednogodišnje produženje mandata UN-a za snage predvođene Evropskom unijom.
Od tada su se odnosi Zapada naglo pogoršali s Rusijom koja je u februaru napala Ukrajinu, a čelnici Srba u Bosni i Hercegovni pojačali su separatističku retoriku, piše AFP.
– Neka vrsta međunarodnih snaga s odgovarajućim mandatom neophodna je za pokušaj održavanja sigurnog okruženja u Bosni i Hercegovini – rekao je Blinken Odboru za vanjske poslove Senata odgovarajući na pitanje.
On je također rekao da SAD planiraju sa saveznicima o vanrednim situacijama poput ove.
– Ako mandat ne bude obnovljen u novembru, pokušavamo osigurati da imamo nešto što će pružiti podršku – rekao je Blinken.
Ruska ambasada u Sarajevu ranije ovog mjeseca je upozorila da bi stav Zapada mogao uzrokovati “destabilizaciju” u Bosni, što je izazvalo strah od prelijevanja iz ukrajinskog sukoba.
Ruska izjava uslijedila je nakon što je visoki predstavnik u BiH, Christian Schmidt, kojeg Zapad podržava, ali ga Moskva ne priznaje, suspendovao kontroverzni zakon koji bi RS-u omogućio preuzimanje državne imovine na njihovom teritoriju.
