Borrell danas u BiH, obići će EUFOR i susresti se s bh. zvaničnicima
Visoki predstavnik Evropske unije za vanjske poslove i sigurnosnu politiku Josep Borrell boravit će danas u posjeti Bosni i Hercegovini u okviru svoje višednevne posjete zemljama zapadnog Balkana.
Prema za sada dostupnom rasporedu posjete, Borrell će u Sarajevu prvo posjetiti operaciju Evropskih vojnih snaga (EUFOR Altea) koja je posljednjih dana dobila pojačanje te je širom BiH raspoređeno 500 vojnika.
“Raspoređivanje rezervi i njihove opreme, uključujući laka oklopna vozila, mjera je predostrožnosti i proporcionalna mjera koja pokazuje odlučnost EUFOR-a da podrži naše partnere iz BiH u održavanju sigurnog i zaštićenog okruženja (SASE -Safe and Secure Environment)”, navedeno je tada.
Tokom posjete Bosni i Hercegovini visoki zvaničnik Evropske unije trebao bi se sastati sa predstavnicima vlasti, opozicije i civilnog društva.
Prethodno je Borrell posjetio Sjevernu Makedoniju gdje je kazao da u sadašnjim vremenima svi zajedno trebaju sarađivati bez političkih podjela, naglašavajući da je zapadni Balkan strateški prioritet za Evropsku uniju.
Kako je istaknuto, višednevna posjeta Borrella zemljama zapadnog Balkana potvrdit će predanost i podršku Evropske unije regiji, između ostalog imajući u vidu invaziju Rusije na Ukrajinu i uticaj tog rata na sigurnost Evrope u cjelini.
Podsjetimo i to da je jučer Borrell odgovorio na kandidatski status BiH u Evropsku uniju.
“EU stoji čvrsto iza jedinstva, suvereniteta i teritorijalnog integriteta BiH i njene duge historijske tradicije kao multuetničkog i multikonfesionalnog društva. Budite uvjereni u našu nedvosmislenu predanost putu BiH ka Evropskoj uniji”, stoji, između ostalog, u Borellovom pismu.
