EUFOR širom BiH uvježbava “Brzi odgovor”
U poslijepodnevim satima u nedjelju, 6. oktobra, u bazi Butmir u Sarajevu održana je svečanost povodom otvaranja vježbe “Brzi odgovor”.
Vježba “Brzi odgovor” je redovna godišnja vježba kojom se provjerava sposobnost EUFOR-a da brzo pojača svoje snage u BiH, koristeći dio rezervnih snaga koje se u partnerskim zemljama nalaze u stanju visoke spremnosti. To je velika vježba kojom se demonstrira odlučnost i posvećenost EU Bosni i Hercegovini.
Komandant EUFOR-a generalmajor Reinhard Trischak se tokom svečanog otvaranja obratio se vojnicima koji učestvuju u vježbi sljedećim riječima:

“EUFOR održava ograničeno vojno prisustvo u BiH, ali ima sposobnost da brzo poveća svoje brojno stanje i snagu i reagira na svaku prijetnju sigurnom i stabilnom okruženju. Vježbama “Brzi odgovor” provjeravaju se mehanizmi za brzu aktivaciju naših rezervnih snaga i njihovu integraciju sa snagama koje su raspoređene u području operacija. Činjenica da su ovdje postrojeni pripadnici naših rezrevnih snaga iz Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva i Austrije pokazuje da to funkcionira.”
Generalmajor Trischak je također pohvalio izvrsne odnose EUFOR-a sa Oružanim snagama BiH, organima za provođenje zakona u BiH i nadležnim ministarstvima, zahvalivši se vlastima na nivou države i RS i FBiH na saradnji sa EUFOR-om tokom procesa planiranja.

Svečanosti su prisustvovali predstavnici institucija na državnom nivou i ambasada, kao i visoko-rangirani predstavnici Oružanih snaga BiH i organa za provođenje zakona.
Pripadnici EUFOR-ovih rezervnih snaga, koji su došli iz Austrije, Bugarske, Mađarske, Rumunije i Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva i KFOR-a postrojili su se uz svoje kolege iz EUFOR-ovog Višenacionalnog bataljona prije nego što će krenuti na lokacije na kojima će se od 7. do 11. oktobra održati vježba u cijeloj BiH.

EUFOR-ova operacija Althea trenutno u svom sastavu ima vojnike iz 20 zemalja. Njegova primarna uloga je da podrži nastojanja BiH da održi sigurno i stabilno okruženje i istovremeno pruži podršku sveobuhvatnoj strategiji EU za BiH.
