Eyup Sultan / Strazbur: U toku gradnja najveće džamije u Europi
Džamija Eyup Sultan u Strazburu, čiji je kamen temeljac položen u oktobru ove godine, bit će završena u roku od tri godine i biti najveća džamija u Europi.
Predsjednik Islamske zajednice Milli Gorus (IGMG) Kemal Ergun je na konferenciji za novinare u njemačkom gradu Kelnu govorio o ovom projektu.
“Kamen temeljac položen je u oktobru ove godine, a njena gradnja će biti okončana u roku od tri godine. Bit će to najveća džamija u Europi, uključujući i Balkan. Džamija će biti građena u stilu osmanske arhitekture. Samo molitveni prostor džamije će imati kapacitet 3.500 ljudi, dok će u kompleksu džamije namaz istovremeno moći obavljati 5.000 osoba”, rekao je Ergun.
Ergun je podvukao kako je riječ o projektu koji nije samo džamija, već islamski kulturni i obrazovni centar, koji će sadržavati restorane, kulturne centre, obdaništa, škole, institute.
“Jedan od ciljeva ovog islamskog centra će biti predstavljanje islama u pravom svijetu, odnosno borba protiv različitih diskriminacija i predrasuda prema islamu”, kazao je Ergun.
Dodao je kako će se kompleks prostirati na 14,5 hiljada metara kvadratnih, te kako se džamija gradi na lokaciji koja je svega nekoliko kilometara udaljena od Europskog parlamenta.
“Mi se ovom prilikom želimo zahvaliti upravi grada, ali predstavnicima drugih vjerskih zajednica zbog podrške i tolerancije koju su pokazali, također se zahvaljujemo i stanovnicima Strazbura. Smatramo da će ova građevina obogatiti grad. Plan je da u toku 2019. godine zavšimo grube radove na džamiji”, kazao je Ergun.
