U dugo očekivanom boks revanšu za pojas prvaka u WBO, WBA i IBF federaciji koji je održan u spektakularnoj Diriyah Areni u Saudijskoj Arabiji, Anthony Joshua je pobijedio Andyja Ruiza nakon jednoglasne sudijske odluke poslije 12 rundi.

Podsjetimo, prvi okršaj između dvojice boksera desio se u New Yorku u junu ove godine kada je Meksikanac šokirao mnoge i na pod poslao Joshuu u sedmoj rundi.
Bio je to prvi poraz u profesionalnoj karijeri Joshue.
Iako je tokom pripreme za ovaj meč Ruiz preko društvenih mreža oduševljavao sportsku javnost fotografijama na kojima je djelovao kao drastično mršaviji i spremniji, na vaganju se pojavio 21 kilogram teži od Britanca.

Osim što je sagrađena za blizu dva mjeseca, njezina izgradnja je bila tema brojnih polemika s obzirom da je izgrađena na lokaciji koja je pod zaštitom UNESCO-a.
Diriyah je, inače, rodno mjesto prvih kraljeva Saudijske Arabije, a taj bi stadion nakon večerašnjeg meča, trebao ugostiti teniski turnir.
