Izvedeno je više zračnih udara na baze IRGC-a u Siriji a u augustu je Izrael optužio te jedinice da planiraju “smrtonosne napade dronovima” te je dodato da su zračni udari te zemlje pokazali Teheranu da su njegove jedinice ranjive bilo gdje.
Ministar vanjskih poslova Izraela Katz je tada rekao da Izrael radi na “uništenju” Soleimanija, objavili su izraelski mediji.
U oktobru je Teheran saopćio da je zaustavio zavjeru izraelskih i arapskih agencija da ubiju Soleimanija.
