Hrvatska šefica diplomatije Marija Pejčinović Burić kazala je kako je hrvatski ambasador u BiH Ivan Del Vechio, odlazeći u Banju Luku, donio pogrešnu odluku i imao krivu procjenu.
“On tamo tog dana nije trebao biti”, naglasila je Pejčinović Burić, ističući da njegov odlazak na tu proslavu “predstavlja veliko iznenađenje”, posebno što joj tokom svog mandata nikada nije prisustvovao.
Također, ministrica je, komentirajući činjenicu da se Del Vechio nalazi u petoj godini mandata u BiH, rekla da su u toku razgovori o novom ambasadoru jer je njegov uobičajeni mandat od četiri godine prošao i ostao je u BiH samo zato što je bila izborna godina i u to vrijeme nije bilo najsretnije mijenjati ambasadora.
Hrvatsko ministarstvo je ranije saopćilo da nije bilo upoznato o odlasku Del Vechija u Banju Luku na prijem povodom neustavno proglašenog Dana Republike Srpske i da je on zbog toga povučen u Zagreb na konsultacije.
Zbog nepromišljenog poteza komunikaciju s Del Vechijem jučer su zvanično prekinuli član Predsjedništva BiH Šefik Džaferović i predsjedavajući Vijeća ministara BiH Denis Zvizdić.
